A lot of people abandoned X-Wing Miniatures when it went from 1e to 2e. You could get entire lots of ships heavily discounted. That’s what I did, and then bought the conversion kits to get all the cards and bases and stuff. I think I paid between $380 for an entire Imperial + Rebel fleet, including two of the big ships. Had to source some 3d printed bomb tokens as those didn’t come in either pack.

I’m a fan of Flip7, it’s great for a very relaxed filler with a lot of players.
It’s just blackjack, the only decision you have to make is whether to take another card or bank what you have. That’s it. There are some special action cards to keep it interesting, but essentially there are 12x 12s in the deck, 11x 11s etc and you want to avoid getting pairs, so 12s are the most dangerous but if you get a 1 or 2 you’re almost certainly safe to keep going.
Very good for pub / party game settings, not at all scary to non-boardgamers, doesn’t require much thinking, it’s a good fit if that’s the kind of game the crowd wants.

I like Flip 7. Relaxed party game, someone busts and everyone laughs because it’s them next.
Flip 7 With a Vengeance is much more interactive and more negative. I suspect one doesn’t need both for any given group. (I suspect I don’t need both, but I have them anyway.)

It is not something I would play much with a group of gamers but it is good for chilling with family and was great for our 6-year-old foster child. He didn’t understand the numbers enough to assess his risk level, but he understood the rules and could play with the grownups, get wrapped up in the excitement of pressing your luck / busting, and generally feel involved.

Finally after many years got to play the original Horrified, and promptly bought it 2nd hand on Ebay for £22 all in. My partner will love it.

Went ahead and used some birthday money to buy Dice Throne X-Men Box 1, which has Storm, Wolverine, Iceman, and Psylocke. Really wanted the second box because it comes with Gambit, who is the best X-Man, but my FLGS didn’t have it, and I figure I will end up with both boxes anyway (and try to stop there).
Also bought More Containers as they only had the one copy and I do suffer from FOMO.

I haven’t been reporting here much.
Picked up Golden Goal (allplay tiny box), a reimplementation of Street Soccer, with the Kickstarter medallion coupon they provide. Added in High Society, Pinatas, and Llama Llama.
Liar’s Dice came back into stock so I grabbed that as well.

Those are all pretty small, both in box and price.
The only standard game purchases I’ve made recently are Cryo and Abyss. Luke Laurie and Bruno Cathala. On the latter, that’s been on my radar for years and I found a good used bundle with the out-of-print Kraken expansion.
On Cryo, I was resaearching Andromeda’s Edge and Dwellings of Eldervale and got completely stumped on which way to go, so I got Cryo instead, as it’s <$30 and easier to table. I’ll likely end up with one of it’s bigger siblings one day, but I still don’t know which.
Edit: It seems drawdown efforts are working. In my worst year I spent $2,800 on games which is not sustainable, and I’ve been trying to draw down ever since. This year we’re in July and I’m at $620, with nothing on my radar but the T&E and Dogs of War reprints. I think we’re going to do it!

Just to complete the set, I ordered Dice Throne X-Mex Box 2. Okay, really it was because I want Gambit, but it makes more sense to get four fighters for $50 rather than two fighters for $30 (a little more after shipping).
Seems like this set is getting harder to find, so that definitely pushed me into buying it.

In order to reward myself for getting through something very difficult, I went to visit FLGS today… actually my partner was so kind and drove me there.
I bought 2 of the games I recommended on the travel thread 
- Fernweh was actually recommended by FLGS guy. It is cooperative which is a plus for me. It also has German text on some of the cards so probably not something to pick up while traveling
- Fantastique I just could resist the pretty and als it came with an actual fan which I admit I had consider getting anyway due to the successive heat waves of the year.
- And well Dito just won SdJ
I also did not buy:
- Unstoppable, FLGS guy said he really enjoyed it and then we talked about Dungeon Crawler Carl.
- DNUP, FLGS person didn’t seem too keen.
- World Wonders expansions: they just didn’t have them
- Trash Poker, my partner wasn’t enthusiastic about the card quality of the main deck though the game did seem interesting and came with a recommendation

Bought Citizens of the Spark, which I had never heard of, but people seem to like it (and it was discounted).
Also, Pinched and Off with Their Heads, which both sounded cool.
And I’m a sucker for a stacking game, so preordered Misfits.
