LOL! Just got a call today from my FLGS that Agent Avenue is back in stock and they are holding a copy for me. If I had just waited a couple more weeks, I wouldn’t have had to deal with this counterfeit copy!

I just picked up a copy of Bomb Busters from a buddy’s brand-new gaming store.
We were playing a game of Star Wars Armada (an absolute banger of a tabletop minis game… one of the best, most fun I’ve ever played, and tragically abandoned by FFG after Asmodee acquired them and started shedding everything that didn’t make immediate massive amounts of money… goddamn tragedy, really good game), since the game store owner, my buddy Mike, managed to buy a small Imperial Fleet for a really reasonable price. Anyway, after our game, my partner came into the store and I wanted to buy something not-too-pricey to support Mike and I had heard enough positive things about BB that I figured Andy might be interested in trying it.
She was, so I bought it! I can’t wait to give it a try… maybe Sunday when we go to visit our Descent 3rd Ed group. A little after-campaign wind-down game? Maybe?

Armada is in a very, very weird place price-wise. The game is discontinued, so it’s cheap. But it’s very popular, so it’s expensive. But the models are out of stock everywhere, so the remaining stock is really cheap to get rid of it. But it’s out of print, so they’re not making more, which means any remaining unopen stock is super expensive. But you can get really, really cheap 3D prints of the ships. But the stands are transparent plastic with very specific sizes so they’re super expensive…
The fleet Mike picked up was 1 “Chimera” class Imperial Star Destroyer, 3 Victory-class Star Destroyers, 1 Interdictor SD, 1 Gladiator SD, and 15 TIE Fighters, plus all the cards, tokens, dice, and tools from 2 Starter sets. About 6 months ago, a guy was selling that plus two other ships (a Gozanti and a Fleet Carrier) for $1,200CAD.
Last week, Mike bought all of that for $220CAD.
… from the same guy who originally quoted it at $1,200…
On Ebay, the Chimera box alone is listed for $240CAD.
Sooooooo… yeah. Pricing. Weird.

I’ve ordered Ofrenda, which is a puzzle game in a similar ilk to Calico but about celebrating loved ones for the Mexican Day of the Dead, plus the Undaunted: Reinforcements expansion, and General Orders: World War II.
(And like the last time Osprey were selling things cheap, I also purchased some other things specifically to resell locally – I figure this might be my last opportunity to do that, with Osprey’s games division being up for sale.)

Bought most of the Undaunted series from Osprey’s sale - had a nice time with the first few missions of the first game and FOMO means I’m worried the rest won’t be available for long…

Lack of cash to spend on them and not getting many chances to play means board game acquisition has pretty much stopped for me (I did put some Ashes stuff I’m missing on my birthday wishlist, but books took priority).
But I did get a new game yesterday …
“I thought you already had Inis? And that’s the old box design …”
“Huh?”
My friend bought himself a second-hand copy of Cyclades: Titans and found it also had a full copy of Cyclades with it. So it’s now found a home in my copy of Inis, as that’s the only box I had that would fit the boards. (And that’s the box for RftG: The Gathering Storm keeping the Inis pieces separate, as all the content from that is in the base RftG box.)

That’s a whole lot of game!
I think if Stalingrad and/or Callisto had been amongst the maximum discounts then I would have had to pick them up (and then decide later whether to keep them); but I don’t believe I’d get the opportunity to play them enough, so I passed.
I did grab North Africa and Reinforcements to go along with the copy of Normandy I already had. I’m mostly expecting to move N.A. along, but if I find that I love the solo mode of Reinforcements, maybe I’ll hang on to N.A. for the added variety.

It arrived. Some of you may remember my story about getting called out for calling this a potential dumpster fire on one of my geeklists and then talking to the designers at SPIEL and getting badgered into backing this…?
Well, it arrived.
It looks an awful lot like a clone of Earthborne Rangers as far as I can tell. And I knew that back then and am not really enjoying Earthborne rangers.
I had hoped to set up a first game and learn the rules but got distracted by the unsorted stack of cards and the lack of an explanation how to proceed from there. Instead the manual directly jumps into the “quick rules 1st game setup” and I jumped directly away from the table.

So Undaunted: Stalingrad, General Orders: Sengoku Jidai, and Rattlesnake are going to show up at my house in a week or two I suppose. I guess I’ll just have to make room for them.

Should arrive today and I am looking forward to trying World Wonders immediately. I have been avoiding this and its expansions for years at SPIEL only to find out I am missing out on an apparently pretty good polyominoes game.
