Last game you bought?

2 minutes is 10 games though

That’s Not a Hat, cos it sounds like fun. For the record, I have an awful memory. In any game where you have facedown cards, I’m always having to check mine over and over (not cheating, just if the game allows it). I’ll get mixed up between a card I just played and one I might have played 5 minutes ago.

It’s brilliant.

Really, really hard though (everyone loses track of what things are)

But that’s when you bluster and the receiving player will take it as the truth!

Obviously you have not listened to older episodes of the SU&SD podcast. I remember them talking about this once and then playing it. It is utter nonsense.

I’ve found one of the most economical ways to get expansions is to buy secondhand bundles. Often, I can get the basegame + an or some expansions for near enough to the basegame price. Then it’s just a matter of selling the redundant content to recoup costs and I’m usually out about the cost of shipping, which, hopefully, is rarely more than $15.

In the case of Clinic, I got basegame + 4 expansions for the online retailer price of the base game.

It’s less a game and more gamified arguing. Effectively: marketing

Understandable. With hard to find expansions, I end up buying the base game again as part of the bundle. THen resell the base game

Just arrived:

Stonks - yep. Another trick taker. From Brazil this time.
Stock Holdem - this one is a Hisashi Hayashi, so it’s an insta-buy.

Re: Aegean Sea, wish we had a video of Chudyk playing it. Sounds like one of those things where you need to see someone work the system to jumpstart playing with it yourself.

Bullet :star: finally came in stock!

Fingers crossed it actually arrives and I don’t suddenly receive a ā€œwe made a mistakeā€ email …

I just learned that https://www.boardgameoracle.com/en-NZ/ is a thing. Danger, Will Robinson, Danger.

Oh, really? I have used that quite a lot the last few years… useful to check before going online or checking 2nd hand prices…

I believe I’ve seen the site mentioned (here), but never as something which might be relevant to me. (If a site domain doesn’t end in .nz I generally don’t expect it to feature NZ-specific content, so it never occurred to me to visit it and look for a drop-down list of countries!)

Tamashii–finally but still surprisingly–arrived with only a few notifications from the logistics side without mention which game this was about… I could guess of course…

I played the intro scenario last night and am pleased to report that it does a very good job teaching the game concepts and I am looking forward to playing it again with my partner

Also it is definitely the opposite end of the spectrum from Voidfall and I am not talking color palette which is quite similar

Crowdfunding strikes again here too

I’m just looking at the zatu Black Friday deals and some are pretty good.

Troyes for £25, red rising for £15, abyss for £30 and Golem for £32 jumped out at me.

After recent splurging I will resist.

Kienda have some big discounts this week too. Might have ordered a couple of long shots that were dirt cheap!
