Last game you bought?

This is all so tempting. Fortunately for me it looks like the gamefound campaign is good and closed and there isn’t any retail distribution to speak of!

I have a copy ordered as well as the upgrade kit and promos to convert my existing Master Set to Ultimate status.

I’m not sure which I’ll end up keeping, but I planned to sell the other one once I decided. Let me know if you are interested.

I feel like GMT is really upping their box cover art game.

I rather like the understated cover of Falling Sky…

But the art for Nevsky floored me. It is just incredible. You can even read about it (the old link appears dead. I’ve emailed C3i about reposting the article)

Especially considering it's from GMT, who have a certain history, e.g.

Of things like this.

But I was really blown away by my newest arrival. I never even realized the P500 art wasn’t going to be used.

I think it’s my new favorite GMT cover. Hopefully the game is good; I never really followed it and I P500d it back in 2020 when retail therapy was helping me cope with worldwide crisises.

I think they heard Michael Walker whining too much on the art :rofl:

War of the Ring: the Card Game and Oceans have arrived. For the latter, there are a bunch of people I’d like to blame. They know who they are…

Is Oceans next in “boxes of air and other tragedies”?

Plenty of room for the giant invisible murder kraken.

I bought Shobu, because I’ve wanted it since it was released!

Good candidate for not leaving air in the box too

I hope you like it. It’s one I’ve been tempted by a number of times

Likewise. I eventually decided that I’d never get to play it enough with anyone to make it worthwhile, so I’m not intending to pick it up; but it was a genuinely tempting thing.

That’s why I hesitated, it needs 2 players who both like chess-type confrontations. But it’s just so cool and I don’t want to miss it.

One thing I’d say about it is that the white stones are extremely variable. They go from round to flat, and from white to medium-grey. Look closely at this, it’s similar to the range I got:

I’d be more worried about the complaints of endless tied endgames on the BGG forum.

It seems like it’s not a very common problem, but one that will inevitably happen if you play a handful of games. What’s bizarre is that the rulebook doesn’t address the possibility of a stalemate at all, and one of the publishers said that they had never seen one.

I just bought something     The price was reasonable now that the redesign was announced.

Considering my interests, it’s amazing that I didn’t already own a copy of Harpoon. This is no way near the latest edition, but it is the one available when I first read Red Storm Rising, and that’s the one I wanted.

Ooh, it’s time I started running play-by-Internet Harpoon again!

I got Oranieburger Kanal in the post today. Mostly bought it for the name but perhaps most intriguingly the game game with this flat sheet of material instead of a classic silica gel packet. Could this be the end of the do not eat packets? There’s no warning not to eat these sheets.

I got mine as well. Maybe I’ll have go tomorrow. After reading the rules I am quite excited to try it soon. But the yellow…. …. is very yellow.

Having lost a couple on ebay, someone on BGG has sold me a copy of Ethnos for a suspiciously cheap price!

Have also bought a German language copy of Stick em and have downloaded English rules.

Hoping for great things from both
