Nice one. I only have Stuffed Fables in the sort of Narrative genre (and Arydia and ISS Vanguard on the way, but that is still at KS level and still may be a while) so I was eyeing it for Xmas… Arabian Nights is really tricky to get a hold of, being out of print, I have not seen it on second hand either recently, and Forgotten Waters did not fully convince me on the SUSD playthrough, plus I have enough pirates games, and unplayed even (Merchs & Marauders and Tiny Epic Pirates) so Destinies looked like a nice pic. We’ll see.
Heh, I was looking through my copy of Maharaja, and my wife noticed a Goodwill price tag for $4.99 on the side of it. Why can I never find those deals!?
I have purchased many Wildlands in Osprey’s sale, as a consequence of enjoying Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter so much. I’d already been intending to pick up one or other of the extra factions just to play with the Dredd set; but having enjoyed the Dark Judges solo mode and noticing that the Ancients expansion for Wildlands featured a more advanced solo system, I crumbled. At one point I had all of the things in the shopping cart, but eventually dropped “The Unquiet Dead” and the first of the Map Packs from the order. (“The Adventuring Party” is better regarded, and I wanted the two-player maps from the second Map Pack.)
From an order I placed ages ago that was held up by a pre-order that still hasn’t arrived:
- Fort: cats and dogs expansion
- Terraforming Mars: Prelude
- Village Green
Mu and lots more - actually, its a pack of four games, including Was Sticht?, which was the game I was initially looking up, its another trick taker.
Also
Sluff Off!
Coyote
Cafe
Got some stuff from America - games I can only get from there. Sluff Off! by Stefan Dorra, I’m the Boss by Sid Sackson, and Bargain Hunter by pre-Agricola Uwe Rosenberg (they are two different people, you see)
Also, got Good Puppers by Chris Cieslik. Because who doesn’t like a good pupper?
Bohnanza-Uwe
Seems I’ve bought Treasure Island… Not sure I remember bidding on that auction, but apparently I did! Now to re-watch the SUSD review to remind myself exactly what it is I’ve purchased.
I’ve bought a few games recently (waiting for the post though)
Factory 42 (this cube tower worker placement game with communist elfs I think)
LLamaland
Watch (a russian factory where you steal bits from it but risky actions might get you caught)
Savannah Park (standard Kramer and Kiesling bingo)
I bought this recently too. Making it my third Rosenberg game, next to Nusfjord and Nova Luna. Apart from a play of Caverna which I barely remember, I haven’t played any of his “big” games, like Agricola. And we hated Bohnanza…
Birthday money means an excuse to frivolously spend.
Aside from paying for some metal coin blingage and a cheap import copy of Botswana
I bought Full Throttle for playing over Christmas. Herr Friese is always trying something interesting with his games.
Bought Aeons End, been looking at this for a while, trying to decide which one to start with. So eventually I went with the base game.
I repurchased Yum Yum Island today when I happened to see it on clearance at Toys R Us (was Christmas shopping for my little girl). This got the axe quite a while ago now when I really started my heavy purge in earnest; I bought it at SHUX '19 and sold it not long after. I was above 50 games at the time and let the small handful of “anticipatory” kids games go with just about everything else. Now that I’m down into my comfort zone, I’ll let this one back in. It’s too cute and fun not to own.
Well, I didn’t buy it, but I gave my list of Christmas gift ideas to my wife the other day and while looking around online, she started just naming games she found to get my reaction on them:
Her - “Fields of Arle?”
Me - “Heard of it, don’t know anything about it though.”
Her - “Scythe?”
Me - “Eh. Heard mixed things.”
Her - “King’s Dilemma?”
Me - “That’s the game I played on TTS with friends months ago.”
Her - “Greater than Games Spirit Island Jagged Earth expansion?”
Me - “WHAT!?”
Added to cart.
I approve of this cart adding.
I went to Ealing to pick up some games from a former club member to buy The City, which is a rare Tom Lehmann game, and Tonga Bonga, which is an old German-style game.
My BGG secret Santa gift arrived today. Let’s see how long I can resist!
One of them is definitely a tin, so could be biscuits rather than a game (which would be completely acceptable).
Is it the top one? Then I have an idea that it is not cookies.

Based on my wishlist, it could be Detective Club, although I thought that came in a smaller tin
