The deck of role cards was: 3 × Loyal Agent, 1 × Political Opportunist, 1 × Terrorist Mole. One of those cards is not in play.
So there is a chance that terrorist was not picked, even if not a big one (1/5)
So only 2 of you can be agents. Hmm interesting.
Interesting. I agree it is hard to see the agent as we all tried.
And technically of course all 3 of us can be agents other than @RossM …
It doesn’t look to me like there is a terrorist. I feel like if there was one they could have instantly won a round or two ago by tanking a threat when we were on the brink.
?If the terrorist had won, would they win if we identified them
If the terror track had filled before the agency track, the hypothetical terrorist mole would immediately win, with no accusation phase. (If there is no mole at that point, all players lose.)
Ok. Shall we set a time frame on discussion?
Say 24 hours from now, 2022-11-04T12:55:00Z? Try to get me a response by then.
Accusation, or lack thereof, sent via PM.
Chewy77, DJCT, and RossM accuse nobody.
Assussanni accuses DJCT.
Assussanni is correct!
Assussanni (Loyal Agent):
Rep: 8
Cynthia Walden: 2
Danny Galvez: 3
William Walden: 2
Elizabeth Gaines: 3
Correct accusation: 6
Total: 24
RossM (Loyal Agent):
Rep: 10
David Estes: 3
Carrie Mathison: 3
Major Joy Mendez: 3
Dar Adal: 2
Captain Mike Faber: 2
Total: 23
DJCT (Terrorist Mole):
Terror: 20
Mira Berenson: 3
Total: 23 (disqualified by accusation)
Chewy77 (Loyal Agent):
Rep: 10
Senator Richard Halsted: 3
Saul Berenson: 2
Total: 15
Which leaves Assussanni as the winner. Congratulations!
So close!
Great game everyone!
I hope that gives some idea of why I like it - in the same general area of game coordinate space as Battlestar Galactica, but to me it feels shorter and sharper.
Darn it ! I would have got away with it too if it hadnt been for that meddling @Assussanni .
Thanks @RogerBW for running.
Two questions.
1 why accuse me?
2 what should i have done differently in earlier rounds? Everything i understood felt blatant!
I was super sketchy about @Chewy77 earlier.
The answer to 1 is essentially down to your bad luck. I knew I was 5 points behind RossM, so even an incorrect accusation from them wouldn’t win me the game. Therefore, I figured I may as well accuse someone. RossM was consistently using Carrie’s ability to neutralise threats by the exact number needed and I think Chewy could have instantly won as the terrorist during the penultimate round. So you can blame RossM for playing too well
Unfortunately I don’t think there was anything you did wrong and no obvious way to me you could have played differently (said as someone who has played this game precisely once!). My PM to Roger basically said “I think Ross and Chewy are loyal agents and DJCT is the political opportunist, but if I don’t accuse somebody I can’t win.”
(Edit to add, this is the exact message I sent: “By my reckoning RossM, loyal agent, has 23 points while I sit at 18. So even with an incorrect guess knocking the score down to 20 I’d be behind if I made no nomination.
“Therefore, despite the fact that I think Chewy is a loyal agent and DJCT is the political opportunist, I will accuse DJCT as being the terrorist mole.”)
Thank you for the game everyone, and thank you @RogerBW for running this. I’d definitely be keen to play it in person sometime, where I think the absence of time delays would make collaborating and scheming much easier. I didn’t expect the tempo of the game to be as fast as it was, I was imagining when we started that it would go on for many more than nine rounds.
I’m afraid I found keeping the logs up to date very hard work, and in an async game that sort of thing becomes important. More automation would help with that.
I bought my copy off Amazon for a fiver, and I’ve seen it a few times at that sort of price in convention bring and buys, but I suspect it never sold very well. I met it at Local Game Group when one of the very active charity-shop-hunters had found a copy - I think he’s moved it on now, but I’m keeping mine.
Same here, I was sketchy about you at the beginning, but decided not to accuse because I thought you were helping in the end. I think the reason for your suspicions were my blunders with the rules, in all fairness, so sorry for misleading you without wanting to.
I also could see that my score was not going to be great, so I decided not sink deeper in my hole… by not accusing the wrong person. There’s a lesson there, I guess?
By the way, thanks Roger for putting the game together, every time I saw the cards descriptions I felt a bit sorry for all the typing that might have involved…
I have a spreadsheet with a condensed version of the card text.
