You have four dice (two blue, two red) and three actions to program with them each round. No rolling the dice, you just set them to the faces you want. Blue dice move (only orthogonal), red dice fire a laser (any direction).
Everyone programs, then everyone does their first action (from lowest number to highest, blue before red for ties), then same for second and third action. Goal is to end the round on the points tokens or get the killing shot on another bot (three health I think).
Special cards give you special powers. You get two to start, then another whenever you die or end a round on a Wrench space (which alternatively you can choose to heal on). Blue cards are to do with movement, and red cards with firepower (often but not necessarily matched with blue/red dice) and sometimes you can only trigger them on certain die values. Yellow cards are miscellaneous powers. You have a blue slot and a red slot, and yellows can go in either - I usually start out with a blue card and a yellow card.

I don’t see you on there. If you click the Games button at the top and search for Volt you can click on it to see the invite with the three of us, and then click the checkmark to join.

I find myself with slightly more free time and slightly more energy than usual, which leads me to eyeball 18xx.games a bit. Any interest? I’m open to learning a new one or sticking with the usuals (1830, Shikoku, Chessie)

I haven’t played 18XX in years but I’d be happy to dive back in. I’d prefer one of the intro games to get back into it. All 3 you mentioned are fine with me.
