To be honest, I haven’t played with the exact same group twice, so it’s hard to say without witnessing the effect of a group meta developing. One thing is for sure, players invariably don’t have a true understanding of the game, no matter how quickly they grok it, until the dust fully settles. You all saw the auction mayhem near the end, with mad expenditures, wild swings of cash, all massive risks to milk out those few extra precious dollars. Until you see the market go nuts, you’ll never “get” Container. I haven’t met a player yet who didn’t walk away from their first game musing over what they’ll do next time.
Speaking for myself, I did actually take a different approach than normal. In particular I’ve never invested heavily into warehousing, and I usually go harder on the island.
