I confirm what @DJCT told me

I have a post I wish to add about possible player roles. Expect that tonight.

Drum roll please…

The only two role claims we have are Empath and Fortune Teller. This is rather weird, as both roles should be protected. The question now is, can we trust them? IF both are telling the truth (which I doubt) than @yashima has to be evil according to the Empath info.

Also I hope that the monk (assuming there is one) has good instincts when it comes to protect the the right person at night.

Or maybe one, or even both are lying. I don’t think both evil players would go after each other in such an early stage of the game tough.

I feel as though we know very little at all. It appears we have a Drunk, as no one has claimed an Outsider role.

Any ideas how to suss out what minion we have?

Ok, this post goes from certainty, all the way to rampant speculation.

Roles
Team Evil.

We have an Imp. (For Sure)

And we have one minion.

(In previous games we had two and that’s doubly hard.)

Is it a Baron? Almost certainly not. Having no one declare an outsider, let alone three makes this highly unlikely.

So, Spy, Scarlet Lady or Poisoner?

I would be ecstatic if we had a Scarlet Lady. In a game with only 8 people it involves no extra info for team evil and no way to mess with team good.

Second best case scenario is Spy. Again, it can’t mess with team good.

Worst option is Poisoner. A constant chance to muddy the waters.

However. It’s not all bad news. Whoever the minion is, they are most effective when they communicate with the Imp. In a game like this I think the urge to communicate between these two is overwhelming on day one. As such I think looking at two way communication is a good barometer of who team evil is.

It’s also the reason why I try to limit my own whispers.

Villager post incoming.

Shouldn’t a poisoner be easy to identify if present? Just watch if the info you get changes from one night to the next.

Does a drunk get the same false information consistently? So if I got information that changed, could I be sure I was poisoned?

I don’t think I have quite understood how a spy works. It says they see the grimoire each night, what exactly do they see? I admit I did not read more than the player rules.

Villager Post

What would be really helpful here is first day information.

The Librarian or Investigator would have already given us huge clarity on the outsider/minion question. I see no reason why they wouldn’t share this information, so I think we don’t have these characters.

Also, the Chef and Washerwoman would have useful information. Again, no one is claiming these, so again not that likely.

So that leaves us 9 roles between 5 villagers (8 minus Imp, Minion and Outsider.)

The poisoner lets the narrator change information however they want. They could make an empath register 2 false positives, or even provide correct info.

A poisoner works on everyone.

Say I was the soldier. If I was poisoned my power would not work and they could be slain by the Imp. A gravedigger may be given the wrong identify for a slain team mate.

A spy sees the true identity of all players and anything affecting them. (If they are poisoned for example.)

Bear in mind I’ve never played this before and was put on the spot.

I hope it doesn’t prove to be too damaging.

Thanks for the clarifications.

As for the outsider. My theory is that we have the drunk unless one of those people who haven’t yet claimed to be townsfolk reconsiders outing themselves as the outsider (at this point it might be a little late to be believable).

My take is that @COMaestro made the most of sitting next to 2 newbies and made an aggressive play. Not jumping to nefarious conclusions yet, it could have been an information gathering exercise.

As for whispering, again don’t look to much into my pattern. New player and I got excited!

Just as a reminder for people the sun is scheduled to set on day 1 at 2021-03-10T18:00:00Z so if I’ve received no nominations I will assume that everyone is getting a bit sleepy.

My corpse must be starting to stink up that town square.

I am not a new player, but as it has been a while, I forgot things, like the Imp being provided 3 unused roles to work with. That said, I have no idea who is a new player. I know certain people have played before in previous games, but can’t remember everyone who played in them.

That said, as the Empath, I only get info about the people sitting next to me, so I have no control over whether or not they are new players. @yashima has confided her role to me in a whisper (whether it’s truly her role or not is up for debate). @Captbnut publicly declared his role, but not the info he gathered from it, which seems odd to me, as there is no reason I can fathom to say one and not the other. @RossM has also confided his (possible) role to me in a whisper, and I to him before deciding to go ahead and come out publicly.

I agree with those saying we have a Drunk, as I see no reason for someone not to admit to at least having an Outsider role at this point. Which means the person does not know they are the Drunk and it providing worthless info. Could even be me. Need to see if the info I get changes overnight, assuming I am not killed.

What I am getting so far is that @Captbnut scanned @RossM with his Fortune Teller ability and he came up good, since @RossM keeps saying that he is trustworthy. Since he was waiting for @Najim to respond at one point, I’m guessing he is the other person scanned.

Assuming our two declared roles are honest (my Empath and @Captbnut’s Fortune Teller), then that leaves only 3 more Villager roles. Since no one has piped up with more useful information, let’s eliminate those roles as possibilities. So, out of those remaining we might have a Ravenskeeper, a Virgin, a Mayor, a Slayer, a Soldier, a Monk, or an Undertaker. Two of those roles have been claimed to me in whispers, which mean, if everyone is honest, there’s only one more in our game. But let’s face it, it is highly likely at least one person is lying (or Drunk).

Also, @RossM has also not yet said ā€œI hate this gameā€ which makes me immediately suspicious of him. :stuck_out_tongue:

@GeeBizzle - please remind me. Minions are informed at the beginning of the game who the Imp is, correct? Is the Imp similarly informed of who their minions are?

@RossM - Do you have a current whisper map?

Let me throw one up!

@COMaestro. Have you whispered to @yashima during this game?

The imp and minion are aware of each other and the imp also knows the role of the minion.

Everyone has a colour!

Nods, head shakes and all other public communication have not been included.

Regardless of the number of whispers between people, I have included only one arrow.

I have whispered to @yashima, so one more arrow is needed.
