Blood on the Clocktower 2: Bloodier on the Clocktower (game thread)

Thanks for GMing @RogerBW. And congrats to team evil.

And here are the grimoires for each day. I used the role graphics from an earlier draft of the rulebook (which still had them as separate images rather than the great big full-page bitmaps that the current one does) and annotated them in Inkscape. That definitely helped keep things in order, especially in the chaotic early turns, though towards the end I was working more with the voting tables (which you’ve already seen, above).

night 1

day 1, Chewy77 is executed
night 2, COMaestro attempts to kill Najim

day 2, RossM is executed
night 3, COMaestro kills Whistle_Pig; pillbox arrives

day 3, KIR2 is executed
night 4, COMaestro kills DJCT

day 4, GeeBizzle is executed; Assussanni talks up their “Slayer” role
night 5, COMaestro kills Lordof1

day 5, pillbox is exiled; Assussanni is executed.
night 6, COMaestro kills GabrielH

Should I share my whispermap? Congrats Team Evil and very good game to watch, thanks everyone for being so entertaining

Excellent work to all. @Lordof1 I got so into your character I never entertained the thought you could be evil, despite the role being a coin toss.

Prescience is only helpful if you can act on it…

Considering how wrong I was in the first game, I’m glad the hours on ms paint and excel at least pointed me vaguely in the correct direction.

Whispers whispers in the ... day

I stopped at the end… there were so few whispers

I did try to track order of role claims and whispers.

Edit: Kir confirmed their role to me at some point which made it easier to see who the imp was. i am not sure I would have figured it out otherwise.

Edit 2 for what it is worth I was sure Chewy was innocent.

Oh god @KIR2 I felt soooooo guilty for nominating you, you swine. We were not too clever were we?

I got well and truly played by team evil. Well done. Also figuring out our empath Was drunk and letting them live was genius.

I’m really sorry @Chewy77 . I’m pleased in that I went largely off gut instinct with no spreadsheets and was mostly right about the evillers… except @COMaestro ! Erg. Well played all.

Also, apologies if I got a bit too much into my character. I can’t tell you all how relieved I was that I got the recluse, and it was pretty cast iron right from the start (although I did enjoy @Najim ‘s bonkers last minute theory). I’m not good at deception or manipulation and so to have a character where it was in my best interests to be totally honest the whole way was extremely helpful because I could just relax and enjoy the game.

You could argue I probably shouldn’t play social deduction games given that I have no skills in them… I really don’t know if I’d enjoy another game of BotC, but I do know that I’d enjoy playing more games with all of you, you lovely lovely people.

I must admit when all the accusations started coming my way, I even asked Roger, freaking out, if I could be evil without knowing.

And I also must admit that I was very confused towards the end. I know this game is not supposed to be easily worked out through logic, but rules make it really challenging at times to make sense of what could be happening. I was convinced Gabriel H must have been drunk, and that is as much as I could guess rightly. Sorry, team good, holding back my vote did not work out as I expected, I was convinced Assussani had to be evil, but COMaestro sneaked through (at least for me).

Well done team Evil.

Bwahahaha!

Great game, everyone! Big thanks to @RogerBW for running. Team Evil got really lucky in being able to tell @GabrielH was the Drunk from the first turn, since he detected an Evil player, but none of us were near him. With that, two claimed Outsiders, and @KIR2 whispering his role to me, I knew @Assussanni was the Baron without ever needing to talk to him. Thus, I was able to let the Drunken Empath live through the whole game to cause confusion and suspicion.

Got a bit scared when @RossM posted a perfect listing of all the players. I think it was only his being a suspected Evil player which kept people from believing it.

I had the slightest temptation to kill nobody in that last night, just to see if I could convince everyone to execute one of the remaining Good players, bit I didn’t think anyone would buy the idea that @RogerBW would prevent Evil from winning by bouncing an attack on the “Mayor” to the Soldier. That would just be mean.

And @Assussanni, my apologies for voting to execute you, but it was for an Evil cause

Thanks for the game, everyone!

Too be fair I think @DJCT had just detected Ross as evil and whispered it to me.

Once again, I had absolutely no idea what was going on

Thanks for running the game @RogerBW

I think you only get to know what is going on if you are Evil.

Indeed. Getting flagged as evil added just enough doubt.

As soon as the virgin test failed I knew Kir and Myself would have to die.

Loved the Ghost chat this game!
