Round 1, turn 4
@pillbox to PM move.
Hmm, I had toyed with the idea of making an arrest at 42 with Red. Oh well, it’s just one possible position. But this helps. Until his move, he has to be at most one circle away from 44.
(clip-clop, clip-clop)
“What’s that sir? A body dump site at this time of night? You’ll never believe who I had in the back of my coach the other night…”
Jack has taken a coach.
YBR to move.
Sorry. We’re not the most efficient team at the moment. I think we’ve startled him though.
Can I check the rules for a coach please? IIRC Jack can move through an investigator and have a double move?
Most obviously he’s going West so not sure what to do with Yellow. I’m tempted to keep them in this corner for one more turn.
Moving red due West (maybe between 40&59) with a search in those locations?
Yes. Also it counts as two moves for the 15-move counter (which is why I turned the card sideways), and the ending space of a coach move may not be its starting space.
I agree. I see no reason for the coach unless we spooked him a bit, which makes me think he may have been at 42. Unfortunately, this really puts him out of our reach, since we can only move two squares. There are some long stretches he could have used.
The other option is he could have backtracked now, using the coach to pass through one of us, in order to head back to the SE quadrant, but depending on where he chose for his space there, he may not have enough time for that, so I’m going with the assumption he’s heading for the NW area.
I think Red might be better off going for that 37-38-39-40 spot, as those are more likely to be in the scope of that coach move and it hits 4 spaces rather than 2. Unfortunately, Blue is kinda far back to do much.
Coach rule check: does Jack leave a clue in both of the spaces of the move?
Yes, he does.
I’m happy with that for Red. Do you think search there?
I’m going to move Yellow to 116-133
Yeah, I don’t think we have enough information now to chance an arrest. I would start with the further away circles and work towards the E, as that gives us a better chance of finding his current location, though with the double move, he could still be further away yet, or took a more Southernly course.
Blue will move to 21-41, as that’s about as far as it can make it.
Can I check a rule again please? If Jack had been on 42 then we would have found a clue, just not won the game?
So 37, 39, 38 and then 40?
Oh, you’re right! That means he must have gone further North after 44. So he had to be at 41, 21, or 22.
EDIT: 21 actually doesn’t connect there, so 41 or 22. Let’s pause and reassess for a minute.
Double from 22 could be as far West as 36, or up on number 4, or all the way down on 76 (from 41).
Yep, and even further if he was in 41. Oh well, it’s what we’ve got. I think our original plans are still pretty solid. Blue can determine if he was at 22, which will let us plan from there, and Red checking out those four spots may yield us more info as well. Your suggested order works for me.
That is correct.
**Yellow search 115, 133 and 116 please
Red search 37, 39, 38 and 40 please**
Haven’t confirmed my move yet
Blue moves to 21-41
It’s like we’re acting with one mind
