Anyone for a Whitehall Mystery?

I like your thinking. Our weakness is South East, we don’t have cover if he’s gone that way. But at least we’d have a good idea that was where he was heading and it would be hard for him to switch back.

Okay then, Blue will be moving to 121-122-104

Do we just want to go with my suggestions entirely?

I figure the furthest to the SE he can be is 106 or 125/140 (these have the same movement options in an Easterly direction), and anywhere he can move to from there, Yellow and Red can reach after this turn. But ultimately, it depends on if we find anything after our investigations this turn.

Yes, I think you’ve got it spot on.

Yellow to 86-88

Red to 162-161 please

Searches/arrests please.

Yellow searches 88, 86, 89 and 105 please

Red 162 then 161?

Sounds good.

Blue searches 121, 122, 104
Red searches 162, 161

I believe you’ve marked the wrong clue location.

I have indeed. Fixed below.

Jack has taken an alley move.

So Yellow was right next to him.

So an Alley move puts him at 85, 103, 102, 119, 121, 104 or 105 if he used it on the block that Blue is bordering. Or he could have bluffed a bit and just moved to 87 or 88 if he used that tiny block next to Yellow.

Unfortunately, Red is really out of position to help at the moment, so I guess it should just move up two intersections to border 122-139.

One move N by Yellow could rule out the 87/88 moves and still keeps it relatively close to the other options. Otherwise, it could move to 83-85-103 to rule out two of the potential moves. Blue could go around to 119-102, or if Yellow moves to the 83-85-103, Blue could move where Yellow was to rule out 88 at least.

I have a feeling he’s trying to fake us out to the NW and head SE.

Agree with Yellow and Blue

Yellow to 87-88 please

Probably a good shout for Red as well, alternative is 126-141 in case he does try to double back.

Okay, Blue to 86-88-105

I think Red’s best move is 122-139 right now, but leave it to you.

Red to 122-139, let’s try to keep the pressure on.

Yellow search 87, 88 please

Red 139 then 122? I don’t think he could be in either so it doesn’t matter

Blue search 105.

Red search 139, 122

Crap! I meant to arrest there since I was only going with one circle! Argh!

Oh well, the hunt is afoot!

105 would also have been the first step in his carriage movement as well I think? It’s the only way to get to 86 from 123. IIRC that location would still have been marked with a clue.

There’s only 1 alley he could have moved into from 86 though - so if 105 was a transit location he must be on 85, 103, 102, 119, 121 or 104 currently. He could be on 105 if he doubled backed on his carriage I suppose.

Ah, you are correct. So it is possible he is not here, but an arrest would have revealed it for certain.

Still, this is what I get for posting first thing in the morning. :stuck_out_tongue:

For clarity: a carriage move has to include a total of three different circles.
