Switchbacks - A game in our ‘1 Minute to Teach’ Line (Mountain Goats, Sequoia, Dandelions, Chomp)
A Message From the Stars - This is a very heavy logic and deduction based word puzzle game played coop or as teams, but this is a game I’m incredibly excited about because it’s the type of game I love so much!
And also:
It will be available in retail through Asmodee in the UK, but likely 6-10 months post KS.
So Switchbacks will be $19. AMFtS looks to be in their $39 sized box.
And during the Pledge Manager you can usually add any AllPlay or Bitewing games to your “order” without extra shipping, so it’s a good time to pick up Pollen, Zoo Vadis, or Trailblazers.
I was just telling my husband the other day we should look into the Undaunted series because I think he’d like it. Maybe sci fi will appeal more than World War II?
Designer of Forbidden Stars has said he is “close” for 5-6 years. There’s a big update every 9 months or so and then nothing. I subscribed to the thread for years but nothing came of it.
I’ll believe it when I see it!
I still have FS. It sounds like they’ve made good changes to the model to keep the spirit while reducing downtime, but I’m unlikely to upgrade given the chance.
With Starry Rift on the brink of delivery (pun intended) I pinged the forums to see why this one had gone completely dark. Lo and behold they are watching! Interesting update. I guess one more year.
Though I’m made extra bitter, with all their emphasis on exact compatibility, at how my 2e upgrade cards are 1-2mm bigger than the rest of my deck, so they stick out the side.
Flamme Rouge Grand Tour is now ‘probably early next year’ according to their booth person. Rules still being tweaked, apparently, so i’m guessing that will be KS date.
Which was the original name when it was a Winsome title, if I recall (this was a time before I was aware of such things as cube rail games, but I do recall seeing it discussed elsewhere)
No, I hunted down the screen shots (which Rio grande appears to be smartly trying to hide) and the map is nigh unusable. Someone had a cool idea which turned out to be terrible in practice but they couldn’t or wouldn’t back down at that point.
I want to write a post based on principles of neuropsychology and perception to explain why it is so bad, from an objective standpoint. Not sure it is worth my time.
There are some fantastic fan made maps out there, and I wonder how much it costs to have them professionally mounted on folding cardboard?
