I remember learning a bit about the Lewis and Clark expedition. But can’t say I remember it!
Never heard of Molly Pitcher until I read about the Revolutionary War in my 20s

I learned about her in Latin class … or history. Romans and their conquests generally featured a lot at my school. The teachers got really mad when I decided to quit Latin for the last 2 years.
I learned most of what I know about her from the Your Dead To Me podcast and the book that was given to my daughter - Fantastically Great Women who changed the world, Volume 1

(Invading with the green empire in A War of Whispers)
“We will paint the city walls with the… bile of our enemies.”
“Sir, we didn’t pick first, did we?”

“I can swim, but I am getting a lot of balls in the face.”
Me: “Allow me a moment to hate Apple before I try to solve this problem.”
Sysadmin: “Where can I join the club?”

“How is that beer?”, me asking my wife about a beer we bought on vacation.
“Tastes like Minnesota”, she said.
“oh?”
“Sort of bland and watery.”
“What is lunch?”
“Baby don’t hurt me…”
“No. Stop.”
“If I were being fake police — not that I ever have — I would secret a key to my own handcuffs about my person. These guys are amateurs!”
“Ilkley Lido! £17 a ticket, and at that price I did not expect to get stung by a wasp!”
Do they usually charge more for that?
Why pay £17 to get into Ilkley Lido when you can walk for 5 minutes and take a dip in the totally-not-sewage-filled River Wharfe for free?
Hey, I just report what’s said. I don’t question people’s faecal avoidance preferences.
This one has polka-dots and BEES
Older than 24 hours ago, but still good:
“Hum … do we want to land the airship on the opera house? I’m not asking that question! Of course we want to land the airship on the opera house!”
