I will go to the Doctor with my lack of movement

Okay: here’s the board for the start of Round 7.

Here’s a reminder of the items for sale at the Blacksmiths.

Town Items

And your movement for this round is:

  • Henirich (@Captbnut) can move 1 space.
  • Anne Marie (@COMaestro) can move up to 6 spaces.
  • Isabella (@RogerBW) can move up to 4 spaces.
  • Thomas (@RossM) can move up to 8 spaces.

Heinrich’s movement roll gives him a free Event card, which is …

  • Honorable Gesture. Play to give any Hero or Town Elder +2 Honor for the rest of the turn (or Showdown Fight Round) OR Play to prevent any number of Wounds that another Hero would have just taken. gain 2 Investigation for each Wound prevented in this way.

That’s a nice card to save for a bad combat round for one of your co-hunters.

Are you still heading to the Doctors Office?

Yes please.

Okay Heinrich staggers to the Doctor’s Office and draws this event card…

  • "I’ll Handle This!" Play this card at the start of any Fight involving another Hero (except a Showdown) to remove them from the Fight. Immediately move to that Hero’s space and you now replace them in that Fight. Gain Fight Dice equal to your Honor for this one Fight and collect twice as much Investigation as normal if successful.

Now that is nice! What other actions do you wish to take this round? I’m presuming healing some or all of your 3 Wounds?

I think I’ve got 4 investigation and have cards to help with healing so don’t want to waste it.

I’ll spend 2 investigation to heal wounds.

You have 5 investigation, so could spend 3 to heal all 3 Wounds and still have 2 Investigation left.

I’ll do 2, slightly better position for the future.

Can I do anything else here with that investigation?

Not here although with 4 Investigation would reveal that last Secret of Lady Hanbrook.

@RossM plans to tackle that.

I’ll remove 2 wounds and leave it there

Okay - Heinrich pays to heal 2 of his Wounds and has 3 Investigation left.

On to Anne Marie (@COMaestro): are you still heading to the Blacksmiths for a hopeful rendezvous with Thomas shortly?

Yes, Anne Marie goes to the Blacksmith and waits.

Anne Marie heads to the Blacksmiths and draws the following Event card…

  • "If I Could Just Reach It" Play to immediately take any Item out of any discard pile.

There are currently 3 Items in various discard piles: the Book of Medicine which you had, the Musket which Thomas had, and the Charm which Heinrich had. Do you wish to play that card now, and if so to retrieve what?

And do you wish to perform any other actions although the only one I think would be to buy a Horse from the Blacksmith?

The temptation to grab the book and become a powerhouse is tempting, but if Thomas is going to give me a book anyway, it only seems fair to get the musket for him.

I will save my investigation.

Edit: but then again, the book of medicine allows for free healing and can be used every round of a Showdown. What does everyone else think? Should I get the book or help get Thomas powered back up?

A nice gesture. Anne Marie spends her new Event card and finds a Musket going cheap at the Blacksmiths.

On to Isabella (@RogerBW): will you be staying in the Fields (1 in 3 chance of being ambushed) or travelling up to 4 spaces?

Hmm.

Can’t get back to town with 4 moves.

Let’s go for the Windmill in the hope of testing Cunning.

@gmwhite999 asked for a die roll:
Isabella heads back to the Windmill where she finds …

  • Crates of Foreign Soil. Searching the basement of the old windmill, you notice several crates marked for overseas travel from distant Europe. Prying open a crate, musty earth pours out onto the floor and the smell of death is overwhelming. Making a Cunning & Combat 5+ test and gain 1 Investigation for every 5+ rolled.

So, with your Cunning of 3, your Combat of 3 and your Pitchfork, you roll 7 dice, resulting in … 7d6: 1 + 6 + 5 + 1 + 5 + 5 + 4 = 27.

That’s 4 Investigation found! Do you wish to do anything further this round?

I now have 7 Investigation, I think. Am I right in thinking that there are no Town Elder secrets left to be revealed? If so, end turn.

The only one left to reveal is Lady Hanbrook’s second secret which I believe Thomas is about to reveal on his turn.
