Maybe the Mistweave Expansion for Everdell is also a candidate though it seems to have more rules overhead than the other expansions so I have shied away from it up to now.
There is a Halloween expansion for King of Tokyo but I will not suggest this game anymore—will play if someone (aka my nephew) begs me because it‘s so fast. But I‘ve considered storing my game at my sisters even though she lives 1.000km away

“That’s a very precise distance”, I thought.
(The fact that . and , are used throughout much of the world to denote numeric grouping and decimal points, but not consistently the same way around is one of the worst things ever. Driving on different sides of the road is one thing, but not being able to agree on numbers is just awful.)

I am maybe going to run a game of Mansions of Madness for Halloween. Maybe. Probably with the Call of the Wild expansion. I worry that this might be a terrible idea if I fail to prep properly for it.
Cthulhu: Death May Die might be a more practical substitute, or Chaos in the Old World if I (again) make time to refresh it in my mind and ensure I can actually teach it, as one of the players was interested in that, but I’m not convinced I’d want to play them with 5p).
I’m also eyeing up the handful of 6-player games amongst my options, in case that’s necessary. The numbers below are BGG’s player count range and preference for the ideas I started with:
- 3-4 (3): AuZtralia
- 3-6 (5): Betrayal at House on the Hill / Betrayal Legacy
- 1-5 (4): Castle Ravenloft
- 3-5 (4): Chaos in the Old World
- 4-6 (6): City of Horror
- 1-4 (3): Cthulhu: Death May Die
- 1-4 (4): Elder Sign
- 4-8 (6): Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space
- 2-5 (3/5): Fury of Dracula
- 2-5 (4): Gloom / Cthulhu Gloom
- 1-5 (3): Horrified
- 2-5 (5): Mansions of Madness
- 3-7 (5): Mysterium
- 2-4 (4): Tyrants of the Underdark
I’d probably go for BAHOTH/Legacy if I’d not had a specific request for it not to be that, and in general I think the most lightweight fare isn’t likely to land so well for this group, so I’m ignoring several games from that list already either for weight or for potential player count issues (I think we’re quite likely to have 5).

I’m keen on a play of Fury of Dracula despite how baroque it is. Whitehall Mystery is awesome too
