I’m making some swift progress on my goals for 2022 after two months.
Though somewhat less complex games played this month, and the crew is propping up the number of plays a tad.
The streak has hit a new high
The end of the month was stressful at work, so hopefully I can pick back up a bit and get some serious wood pushed and cards shuffled.

Some rapid progress on this end again, and a new goal of an average of 2 plays a day over the year. One of my apps has got confused though and insists I haven’t played every day when I clearly have, and it even lists all of the days with ticks by them. I blame daylight savings as it’s responsible for most of my ills at the moment.

No games from the list this month. Maybe in April! I know I have a game of Battletech (over TTS/remote) in a couple weeks, so that will at least get that on the board. That’ll be nice.
Did play a bunch of other stuff, though! Played a bunch of games of Lost Ruins of Arnak, and I continue to be bad at it, but that’s okay! Played a stack of 7 Wonders Architects, enough to confirm that I don’t care for the game, and a bunch of 7 Wonders 2nd Ed, enough to confirm that I liked it but I’ve moved past it in my tastes. Still a good game, but too random… anyway, also played a lot of party-style games. Tried Stella for the first time, and it was disappointing, and a bunch of games of Can’t Stop which is always a pleasure.
Moral of the story: played a bunch of games, but none of the ones I really want to. I continue to blame the pandemic.
Realized that my game of TI4 I’m playing is actually including the Prophecy of Kings! Woot, one off the list. I’ve painted almost all the models for Descent, which means I may actually get a game of that in soon!

Well, I did get in one game of Battletech over TTS. It was nice! A little too quick, honestly, but that’s what Alpha Strike offers: lots of robots but also less detail per robot. It was good enough that my buddy who I played with immediately went out and bought little plastic robots. So calling that a win!
Other than that, played TWO games of War of the Ring (I know!), lost one and won one. Great fun! Played Merchants of the Dark Road, which was okay albeit not spectacular (good enough I am definitely willing to try it again, but gosh it’s a lot of flash… I just hope there’s substance under there), Radlands, which was very meh, Blitzkrieg which was lovely, and a couple games each of Longshot and Explorers, both of which I enjoyed.
Plus 2 sessions of Star Trek Adventures and our first session of D&D 5E. Honestly… I can’t complain. Sure, they’re all remote, but that’s okay, I think? I’m going to spend all day today actually reading the rest of the DMG and STA rulebook (I’ve read the important parts!.. mostly!..), and then get back to writing my novel tomorrow.
Gosh I have way more time when I’m not in school…
Nothing from this list, but I have played all of the new games I purchased since the start of the year. So the list is, at least, not growing? I’m gonna call that a win.

I will surely play Lemminge and VOLT at least once more each this year, and Rallyman at least once a month for the challenges. PanLeg1 is done, and I’m unlikely to bother with another game of VektoRace on BGA (it would probably be better in the flesh, but for me that’s true of almost any game). I am likely to play more Automobiles, on Yucata or elsewhere. So that’s about six games more or less locked in.
Quacks in the Big Box, the version I have, suffers from being too big to fit into my new standard format for moving games around (four carrier bags that fit into my games-trolley, so if I have to use stairs or whatever it’s easy to shift them separately).

Streak going strong, but my lowest monthly play count since last September (the month the streak started). I blame illness over Easter and a couple of big games that take a long time but only count for one play.
A nice range of types and weights of games played…
And my yearly goals are mostly filling up fast.
10x10 progress is good, but Mazescape is never going to make it any further as I’ve finished it.
And the next ten filling out the 20x20 progress

I have more or less given up on the challenges this year.
I may make the “easy” automated challenge of playing 10 different (random) games 10 times.
I may also end up playing 50 new-to-me games. But that does not necessarily shrink my shelf of “opportunity” which is still sitting at 28 games—I keep selling/buying games. So there is always more stuff getting added.
So my easy challenge is this:

We may yet get there the list includes: My City (done), The Crew 2, Ares Expedition, Rallyman GT, Splendor, Flourish, The LOOP, Radlands and Scape Goat.
PS: I am not unhappy with my overall gaming this year. I have 184 plays logged for 61 different games. And there are some big ones in there that just haven’t broken into my top 10: Feast for Odin (on game 5 now), Lost Ruins of Arnak, Dune Imperium, Spirit Island, Planet Unknown, Factory Funner…
