It was the 7th birthday of one of my favourite albums so I took part in an online listening party earlier in the week. That was good fun. Now for some analogue listening:
Wasn’t aware of his music…like it… thank you
Les Rita Mitsouko & The Sparks - Singing In The Shower
Hold Tight feat. ASM, Youthstar & Illaman (Music Video) - Chinese Man, Scratch Bandits Crew,
Amadou & Mariam - Filaou Bessame (Cerrone remix)
I currently have the new Svalbard album on repeat. For anyone interested in a mix of hardcore/black metal/shoegaze:
If I fancy a brief change, I’ll switch over to the new Jamie Lenman album, as that also came out today.
You’re reminding me I need to give the latest Kvelertak another few run-throughs. I greedily snapped it up on launch day, but it left me pretty disappointed.
I have the Ava Max album on repeat. It’s like someone in 2010 was listening to Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream albums and thought the world really needed a blend of the two. Update the production slightly (but not very, as this is very early 2010s sounding) and voila - one album full of glossy, pop earworms. It keeps me happy.
It’s been a rough week, so been dancing round the kitchen
Never work out whether I prefer…
Or
To really get the frustration out, NSFW obvs
And relax to the beautiful voice of Stevie Nicks
Memphis Minnie:
Listening to Why Say No? from The Yes Yes Boys this morning, featuring the wonderful Del Rey on ukulele. The whole album is a free MP3 download from Del Rey’s label, via that link.
Jill Tracy’s “Diabolical Streak”. Dastardly and Delicious!
Going back to Greg’s new releases to learn the drum lines from them, I think. Very into Do You Need Me To Remind You? above, and Deep Set.
Does https://mynoise.net count? (Cosmic Expansion)
Some time ago I talked about Venetian Snares. I’m listening to the album I talked about on my new headphones and it’s quite nice, though I have to say, this kind of helps bring home just how good the standard earphones you get with a modern smartphone are.
Either that or this is supposed to sound even better and my ears are just gash.
I listen to music when cooking and this has been my go-to jam lately. Gackt’s Drug party concert (I set up my tablet).
It’s was a smaller scale, on purpose after a ton of massive arena tours, to get back to an almost dive bar version of his regular concerts. With a lot of fan favorites of mine like Mirror which often when preformed live doesn’t include the violin but in this one it does.
Arctangent is looking so, so good, so I’m going to be bumping some alt metal to get me in the mood. Even if it doesn’t happen.
Amenra, Oathbreaker, Rolo Tomassi, Body Hound, The Locust, Rolo Tomassi again.
I’m so hype.
Mono, Maybeshewill, Perturbator, Caspian and Talons make it tempting!
Oh hey, Svalbard are playing! (Not unsurprising as they’re from Bristol.)
And another band where I know one of the members personally
