Twilight Imperium 4th Edition: PBF GAME 1

Do the capital ships in my home system have movement of 2, or just 1?

Those are carriers, which have a movement of 1 (2 if upgraded).

Oops, missed the destroyer, which has a movement of 2.

Not sure if I can do this.

Activate Everra, send the Destroyer from my home system and a cruiser and fighter from Velnor there

Those are dreadnaughts, not cruisers at Velnor, but it can carry a fighter.

Ok

Activate Everra and move a destroyer from home system and a dreadnought (carrying a fighter) from Velnor to Everra

@Marx asked for a die roll:
So the Mentak have 2 PDS plus Plasma Scoring for a total of three shots against those ships hitting on 5+.

I am assuming the Mentak want to take the shot?

If not, just say so before looking at the spoilers!

PDS 5+: pool 3d10: 1, 4, 8

There’s no Mentak PDS on Everra on the map. I’ve got one though. Or do the adjacent ones fire?

I’ve got arinam, archon val and atlas yes I’ll take a shot and I think I get an extra die for plasma scoring.

Sorry took about five scrolls back and forth before finding the posts I was looking for.

The Mental have PDS 2 Tech, so they can shoot I to adjacent systems (just like your Flagship).

Okay, so the Mentak take the shot and the results rolled above stand: @Captbnut takes one hit and decides where to allocate it.

Sorry, is it 3 or 4 die I roll?

Also do I get to attack as I have no ships or troops in this system and don’t control it

I’ll take it on the fighter please

So you have 2 PDS adjacent to the system, plus Plasma Scoring for a total of 3 dice (Plasma Scoring adds 1 total die, not one per PDS).

Any time somebody activates a system adjacent to one (or more) of your PDS you get to take a shot “without consequences” (in game consequences, that is. It can’t be stopped by Support for the Throne or Peace Treaties or whatever, it is not a Battle, it doesn’t cause a win or a loss of a combat, etc… But of course the players can be annoyed or angry by your decision to shoot at them).

PDS fire always targets the active player unless it is specifically the active player shooting the PDS: then they can choose any eligible target in the system they activated.

EDIT: You can only use upgraded PDS to fire into adjacent systems, but otherwise it’s the same for PDS in the same system.

@Marx asked for a die roll:
Ah! Totally my fault: I forgot you had Archon Val!

Let’s fix that:

PDS 5+: d10: 10

Boom. Another hit on the Xxcha.

Sorry about missing that! Good catch both of ya!

After @Captbnut finishes taking that second hit, it is over to @COMaestro and the Yssaril.

I’ll put it on the dreadnought please

I will use my Imperial strategy card. I will complete the Master the Sciences objective. Then I guess I draw a secret objective.

Anyone else may use a strategy token to draw a secret objective.

Then we are back to @GabrielH
