Twilight Imperium 4th Edition: PBF GAME 1

So this seems to be a very common misunderstanding.

In order to complete and objective that requires you to spend something (Resources, Influence, Trade Goods, etc…), you must spend those at the moment you are fulfilling the Objective IN ORDER to complete the Objective and for no other reason.

So “building ships” would be spending the resources on building ships.
“Erect a Monument” means spending 8 resources at the time you are fulfilling the objective to score a Victory point.

I’m not trying to come across angry/mean/annoyed or anything, but a bunch of other players have had this same misunderstanding. I’m hoping that everyone understands now how this works? Otherwise it will be impossible for you to complete most of the Objectives (since you’ll be spending your resources/influence/Trade Goods on your turn doing other things and therefore won’t have them available to score the objective).

Ok so i’ll exhaust mecatol rex and cealdri (total 10 influence, but fine to lose the excess) to complete sway the council. Correct?

I will spend a Strategy token for a secret objective.

I’ll take a secret objective. Also amazingly have a phone signal still so should be fine to keep an eye on the game.

I’ll take a secret objective

I will also take a secret objective. :cowboy_hat_face:

I will also take a Secret Objective.

It is then my turn, and I will activate “Hope’s End,” moving 1 Dreadnaught and a Fighter from Elysium there. I will then use the “Production” ability of my PDS/Hel-Titan to produce 1 (one) War Sun by exhausting Elysium, Sem-Lore, and Rigel III.

I earn 1 Trade Good as a result of that production.

Over to @GabrielH!

I will use Diplomacy to protect Creuss, and refresh Creuss and Accoen.

Everyone else may spend a token to refresh to planets.

Nothing on diplomacy for me

Sorry, I’m going to play my action card “Coup d’Etat” to cancel that Strategic Action.

“When another player would perform a Strategic action: End that player’s turn; the strategic action is not resolved and the strategy card is not exhausted.”

Unless somebody (like @GabrielH) wants to cancel it… otherwise we’ll wait for a bit to confirm everyone has a chance to respond, and then move on to the next player’s turn.

Sorry Ghosts, I really want the Diplomacy Secondary but you’ll have to wait for me to have more tokens…

But…I want to have more untapped planets before you use your strategy card!

confirming you want to use your LAST strategy token? for this secret objective, of which you’ll have to discard one of the 3 you’ll have?

It also looks like Hope’s End can be explored with Scanlink Drone Network. Did you want to do that?

Yes to the last Strategy Token.

Do played/scored Secret Objectives still count towards your 3 limit? Regardless, the answer is still yes… one of my SO is really hard to accomplish.

Yes, I would love to do that, thank you.

Ah, curses. Always a risk!

So be it. The Titans shake our giant metal hands in your general direction and accept that Diplomacy will refresh planets without us.

So, everyone can decide if they want to use the Diplomacy Secondary Ability (refresh 2 planets), and then it will be @Captbnut’s turn.
