When you drop a mine, it effectively happens before thrust - it goes along your old vector, while you are required to change to a new one. (Otherwise boom.)

I think I can fire (2 range, 5 relative speed -2 is 3) at -5, which conveniently only can produce any effect at 4:1 odds, which means Eastbloc counterfire cannot harm me, so I’ll shoot at one of the Eastbloc corsairs and hope to roll a 6. I’ve not invoked discobot because perhaps my comprehension of the combat rules is limited.
I concur with -5. You can indeed combine four strength-4 ships into a single strength-16 attack vs a strength-4 corsair. If EastBloc wishes to counterattack, all the ships in that hex may participate, so he can stack 4+4+2 against one of your corsairs - but 10:4 is 2:1, no effect at -5.

The ram is at -4 (for velocity difference), so won’t have any effect. Gunfire will also be at -4; 2+4 vs target 4 is 1:1 which at -4 also won’t have any effect.
