Be still my beating heart

I think this game is great and I’d like to back but finances and current life situation might prevent me. It’s genuinely great, however the marketing of saying it’s got great artwork rubs me the wrong way.

Art is subjective and I can see it so you telling me it’s great is either patronising or annoying for being wrong for me. In this case as well I don’t think the art’s great so it’s annoying.

You can always play mine. I’m in too deep. I’m obviously backing this

Thing is, if I had my own copy Dom only lives 10 minutes away…

Rosalie is on KS right now and tempting me with cuteness. Same publisher as Aqua Garden. I didn’t play Aqua Garden much. This one might have more interesting gameplay. And roses.

£10 postage in the UK? Hell yeah!

It feels wrong to not support the good postage when it happens!

Not a board game, but Felicia Day has a KS for a The Guild movie, which has well exceeded it’s goal at this point.

Board gaming related, though, now any funds are going towards episodes of Condludo, which will feature her and Wil Wheaton discussing something that interests one of them, then playing a board game that relates to that topic, with celebrity guests. Feels like a sort of successor to TableTop. Considering TT had a sizeable influence on me getting back into boardgaming, I’m interested to see what they come up with.

I know there’s a lot of us older folk on here who know this already, but Tabletop was a huuuuge deal.

If a game featured on it, it sold out immediately. There’s a good argument to be made that it helped all of boardgaming in a major way.

So Felicia and Wil doing Not-Tabletop is the best news.

I liked it a lot more in the early seasons. In the later days Wil was basically admitting that they were choosing games based on who paid to have them featured and shooting a full season in two days, and he blamed an intern for an on-camera rules error.

Yeah, the later seasons killed the illusion that Wil was just playing games he enjoyed with his celebrity friends. And really shat the bed with the intern blaming, even if it mostly was one person’s responsibility to know the rules, surely everybody involved should have at least read the rulebook and been able to notice when they were playing completely incorrectly.

You might think that, but they don’t have time for that. Production schedules make everything go full speed, and reading a rule book is not in the schedule. Blaming the intern is still crappy, the failure is on whoever thought putting the intern in charge was a good idea.

Tabletop was certainly the spark of my renewed interest in boardgames 10 or so years ago.

Yeah it’s certainly punching down and who’s not made a rule goof.

I feel like how to play videos and a lot of the resources for learning games weren’t as well developed or as many options back then. Should be an easier ask these days. Keen to watch them. Are they planning on putting it on YouTube or is it backers only?

I meant the people actually playing. “Hey, want to do this show? Here’s the contract. Also, read this rule book.” Sure, I’m willing to bet not every guest really actually cared about the game and was just using the exposure or wanted whatever money may have been involved, but considering who many of the guests were, I’m sure some of them would have read rules just for fun.

I’ve got a favour to ask anybody with the inclination to do so. A friend of mine has designed a tutorial for the next game I’ll be crowdfunding, Latitude. As well as a fully playable version against bots. Would you be able to take a look and check it makes sense and let me know any feeddback? Thanks
Hopefully you’ll also enjoy it as well.

On the bubble before: “it’s a good idea….” The text got cut off (iPhone 15 I think) and then when I tapped it it moved to the “it’s a good idea…”.

As an observation the second move I do ( oceans piece 2 with a 3) seem to counter the first move I do.

I’m not sure why a sea space cannot be placed between the two groups of sea spaces (by the computer) with a 4? But the words suggest any extension is impossible.

I like the idea of the game. It reminds me of a trick taker.
