Hmm… I think there’s a point where things stop being games and become - something else…

Yes, there’s definitely some people who take their aerial wargaming very seriously, with telescopic flight stands that have a gimbal at the top to set both the height and whether the planes are diving, banking or rising.
Can confirm those were still being used in Universities up to at least 2000 ![]()
still in use in 2026
Concordia Special Edition by Awaken Realms - Gamefound
Me from 7 years or so ago would totally be into this
looks at my two boxes with base and four expansions
“Well shoot.”
They were supposed to do Power Grid next. I don’t have that.
Or Orleans. I’d upgrade that.
Wrong thread for this, but for me a big box would be a downgrade.
This was suppose to be in the Crowdfunding thread
I’d be all over it if it weren’t for the use of AI slop in other campaigns.
The other deluxification campaigns were reasonably priced for lots of proven content and had a no mini version.
Unfortunately they use AI to “assist” the artists and always seem coy about how it is “assisting” [citation needed my info is second hand]
I assume these people know more about the market for board games than I do, but do people who like Concordia want this kind of thing?
I love Concordia, it’s fabulous. But one of the fabulous things about it is its astonishing simplicity and lack of unnecessary fluff.
It was done with Agricola, Castles of Burgundy and Puerto Rico.
There is a market for this but it might not be you
I love Concordia and would be all over the hinted at new playable stuff. I don’t want a giant box with miniatures and whatever. I really don’t want AI garbage. Ugh.
Yes. CoB was the proof of concept for this. It sells. Slop Realms found a niche.
I can see Keyflower and Power Grid being potentials.
Oh, it’s definitely not me!
I’m just surprised that it’s anybody (for Concordia in particular; I can see how some games might lend themselves to this sort of thing).
Slop Realms is probably just a bit more honest about it? Not that I think it’s a good thing they are cheapening the jobs of illustrators …
Someone on BGG stated the other day that they feel, that AI use is already quite widespread and will only happen more and more not less. They added that instead of having labels “made with AI” we’ll probably soon have labels like “Created by humans” or “Original human art” or …
wait for it: “Artisanal Art”
-.-
Until they run out of fake VC to burn and the prices go up 10-100×. Key point, quite apart from any questions of ethics, is not to get locked in and dependent before that happens.
