The Crowdfunding Thread

At last:

(And very well packaged, so certainly no obvious damage.)

Bullet Cubed: New Expansions & Storage Box by Level 99 Games - Gamefound

You guys want more Bullet for your Bullet?

I think I do theoretically but practically I don’t play enough heart to justify it.

I’m kind of more interested in misfit heroes as my current “eye on kickstarter”

I really thought I’d jump in on this, but I’m having doubts.

I like that the new wave is going to include PvE and PvP from the start.

I’m interested in the storage solution, but not a $60 empty box.

Yeah, I may pick it up sone time but I play entirely with friends, sharing cards, so I don’t need the latest thing; I’ll wait until I can get it more cheaply.

I usually don’t check this thread. Can somebody @ me if/when Dogs of War goes up? I’d hate to miss it.

(They recently posted on BGG (within a month) saying they were targeting November delivery, which would mean very very soon launching… but maybe they misspoke and they meant November campaign)

That makes sense. NOV means Essen Spiel release. Might be here soon

I’m hoping at least the new starter set will come to retail, as I’ve sworn off crowdfunding stuff that’s not based in the UK …

An expansion for A War of Whispers coming to Kickstarter:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tycoon/a-war-of-whispers-expansion-of-influence

Does this look as though it improves / balances some of the aspects of the original? It has maybe my favourite concept/theme ever, but many reviews of the first one felt it had flaws.

The most common complaint is that it doesn’t really deliver on the theme. It promises hidden agendas, scheming, intrigue! In reality, you’re moving cubes and tokens silently around the board. I don’t dislike it, but I’ve never had a really great game of it. It’s a game that feels like it should be full of negotiation, but the mechanics discourage it. It would take a big overhaul to change that.

More content for Mindbug. It’s one of those silly and approachable card game without spending gajillions into it. Oh and it’s by Richard Garfield

Remaining:

  • Innovation Ultimate - really… any day now… c’mon guys!
  • Ur 1830 BC - Splotter published by AAG
  • 18 Svea - AAG is really being slow with this wave
  • Oath expansion
  • Old King’s Crown - still taking a while
  • Ministry of Lost Things
  • Bitewing Games’ Cosmic Silo series
  • Allplay playmat
  • Pax Maleficium - after the subpar Pax Illuminaten, I’m sceptic on this one as well
  • Pride of Ninja - oh god. After yapping about Age of Assassin’s, finally. But honestly, it’s been so long that I’m not sure how I feel about the game today

18SVEA is getting annoying

I’ve got that and Merchants of Andromeda + Waddle. Pledge manager for that opens soon, so open to suggestions for any hard to get stuff from AllPlay and friends.

Based on my recent experience with AllPlay I wouldn’t recommend adding other games in the pledge manager at all. I’m still waiting for my Kabuto Sumo pledge (they “completed” fulfillment a few weeks ago). I had added some extra games in the pledge manager that it turns out aren’t actually available, and I’ve had to do a lot of chasing to find out what’s happening and get a refund. The most annoying thing is that there were two things in my order that were out of stock and they only told me about the first one until I chased them again after my “shipping very soon” amended order didn’t show up

TLDR: it’s not worth the hassle if you actually want to receive your pledge

That’s very poor customer service

I backed Neon Hope the other day. Those were the guys I talked to at SPIEL after calling their game a potential dumpster fire on BGG  It’s kind of local and I am interested in the Berlin/Cyberpunk scenario. I am still not super optimistic about the game but …

Oddly enough, I have part of a game design jotted down where this is a core mechanic

Whoooo that’s cheeky, their only buying options are the expansion (quite cheap if you’re in the US), or: a huge bundle of deluxe everything. No way to buy the standard base game.

(You can get Nemo’s War quite cheap though).

I want it, but I’ve only had my copy of the base game on the table once so far, and that was two or three years ago. So do I really need it?

That’s the way I’m feeling. Also international shipping. I want to get the game out again, and then if I’ve played some more by the time it gets to UK retail, maybe give the expansion a shot…

From what I can see I’m going to feel that the expansion is essential - stuff like the opening card that ensures everyone has different army lists.

I think I’ll try to get the base game as cheaply as possible (and yes, international shipping puts even just the expansion totally out of reach).
