The Crowdfunding Thread

This one was pretty quick

Wow! Very quick. Feel like that was on crowdfunding about 3-4 months ago.

Probably not my kinda game, but the art on this is tremendous!

Is it time for another roundup of open preorders?

Expected any day now (addresses locked):

  • Ark Nova and Cascadia expansions (not crowdfunding anyway)
  • Aegean Sea (do not head over to Spacebiff to read his review.)
  • Sail & Chomp were at the Fair so … any day now?
  • Spirit Island Nature Incarnate: whenever the EU tax stuff is resolved
  • Daybreak: German version is out, so … any day now?
  • Unsettled: ship has arrived, so … soon?

Maybe this year:

  • Assault on Doomrock: production has started or something like that
  • Tamashii: Chronicle of Ascend
  • Unconscious Mind: looked quite finished at the Fair, so I assume before Christmas?
  • Wonderlands War expansion and superdeluxe-extra-plastic edition

Way off:

  • Mori (along with Kabuto Sumo)
  • Arcs
  • Firefly
  • Gloomhaven: Buttons & Bugs
  • Cyclades Legendary Edition
  • Clank! Legacy 2
  • Paperback + Typewriter
  • Planet Unknown: Supermoon or should we called it Superlid?
  • Sol last days of a Star
  • More Terraforming Mars the ā€œno principles foundā€ AI Edition
  • Innovation Ultimateā€“ā€œmy partner will hate this even moreā€-Edition

Note: I am not listing games anymore that I have given up on getting (it’s just one)
PS: Septima arrived today. Sadly missing a couple of components but nothing I can’t simulate until they get around to fixing the issue (which I assume they will…)

Ah! I forgot about this one. I joined a group pledge for this so it should be cheaper. I’m only getting the expansion and the 2023 promo pack. I’m not really a playmat person. I also don’t have the fancy-schmancy 3D stuff.

Blimey, that was negative. I had considered adding this to another order to mitigate crazy shipping costs, but it definitely sounds like a try before buying deal.

Tamashii arrived for me but I am in the US. Guessing you are waiting on the other language versions?

Xolo and Ofrenda expansions arrived today (I already had the base game). The production quality is gorgeous.

I donā€˜t quite remember which one I ordered. I don’t think I would have ordered German on a game like that. Itā€˜s probably just more EU tax shenanigans. Always a little complicated here.

Cascadero & Cascadito (+ Zoo Vadis) by Nick Murray of Bitewing Games — Kickstarter

New Knizia+Bitewings crowdfunding

I have to say: those small rider meeples seems like a freaking hassle to place on the board

The rider meeples look a bit like candy camels, don’t they?

Candy camels are coming back in a different Kickstarter.

Less candy looking than the previous edition, IMO.

They’re wood in this version of TTD, are they not?

They are. Publisher confirmed it

Yeah, I’m not that interested in Cascadero and I don’t know why

All Play has all their stuff in not-small numbers at Essen. This year I could have easily bought all the games I backed at the Fair. I know I appreciate not having to carry around many games during SPIEL however… I haven’t got my games yet (this time). All Play does good crowdfunding but with shipping and taxes being what they are… I think I can just buy their stuff at retail now.
