Really like Haggis as an alternative to Tichu. Never tried Tricktakers. I did back Kings: Tricktakers but Im a bit slow with my card game pile recently.
Don’t tempt me, apparently I’m booking a cruise so will need much moneys
But surely you need a new set of trick-taking card games to play during your cruise!
I was going to back this so would be in for a group pledge.
Cool
I was thinking of doing it over the weekend, so if anyone is interested in a group pledge for one or both of these games let me know.
Happy to join a group pledge
Eh, what the hell, count me in on the group pledge.
Me too on the pledge please
I need some two player games, which trick taking isn’t (these ones at least)
Looks like we can definitely order more than 5 games, so I’ll pledge for the $110 level and then sort it out.
@GeeBizzle @lalunaverde @RogerBW @DJCT do all want both Haggis and Tricktakers? Anything else from the PGC catalogue?
Yes please for the two. Any views on the others?
Both please, I like the look of the upgrades for each and 2 sets of the poker chips if they can be added?
I’ve not played either 535 or Bridge City Poker. They’re supposed to be good, however, The Portland Game Collective (the producers) Discord is pretty much the home of trick taking on the Internet so the people who own them are probably more inclined to say nice things!!!
However Haggis is an absolute banger (and is on BGA) and Tricktakers is supposed to be superb (and I saw and heard reviews before PGC announced they were releasing it).
Both pls. Thanks
Fox in the Forest is a 2p trick taker. It’s very good for those who have done a ton of trick taking in the past but won’t reveal itself to people who are just learning trick taking.
Sail is a newer 2p trick taker that might not be in European retail? It’s a co-op where you will lose a lot, trying to get your pirate ship through kraken infested waters by completing tricks with matching symbols.
But, of course, for a cruise, you’d likely want the windproof waterproof and better-than-both-of-those Hive
I will stick with the 2 then!
What the hell, I’ll go for all four - but no chips.
Go on, I’ll have Haggis
I can’t help it but I backed Prelude 2 + the rest of the new expansions + the playmats because they look awesome and I love Terraforming Mars. The Ares Expedition expansion shipping sucked and I really hope they learned from that. But I doubt I’ll get the neoprene mats from one of the retailers that will carry a few without some hassle and then I might just as well back the expansions. If it had only been the expansions I would have waited like with the dice game. edit: Guess I’ll have to get the big box at some point.
Also “Weimar” arrived. Yay. Unboxing it later.
Super keen!
