Star Trek Ascendancy (recruitment)

OK, so we might have
RogerBW - Vulcan
Marx - Cardassian
RossM - Andorian
Delwayne - Romulan

but we’ll see who else joins.

I’ll be reading how the Borg work then.

Edit.

In terms of starting resources I don’t think we need any more. There is an option for less and other optional rules.

posted this earlier. Had an error sending.

oh, yeah, forgot about Cardassian. They are good. BTW, for them are we playing you must have a ship to produce anything?
Also, if we do Borg, then switch me to Klingon.

I believe cardassian planets always provide production but need ships in orbit to produce culture and research.

Other way round; they only generate Production if there are Cardassian ships in orbit.

Let’s see how people feel about this. Tick as many as you like.

How much Borg in game 2?
  • No Borg at all
  • A little Borg
  • More Borg (Minor Delta Quadrant Probe)
  • Quite a lot of Borg (Major Delta Quadrant Probe)
  • Borg Borg Borg Egg Chips and Borg (Delta Quadrant Connection)

I’d be interested in joining… if there is space? I’ve only played once before, shortly after the game came out when I think it had a player counter of exactly three.

I enjoyed watching the first game, which was a nice refresher on the rules, but would need to read up on how the Borg work.

Welcome! Any preference on factions?

I’d be happy with any of the original three factions. Looks like no one has expressed a top preference for the Federation, so how about them?

OK, looks like:

RogerBW - Vulcan
Marx - Cardassian
RossM - Andorian
Delwayne - Romulan or Klingon
Assussanni - Federation

Since I’ll be playing, I’ll go with No Borg.

Sudden heavy workload, but I’ll try to get the setup done over the next day or two so that people can choose starting spots.

I hope the server thing is behaving.

Do we do the dice, or do you? is there some kind of chat command?

roll 2d6 but surrounded by square brackets

@RossM asked for a die roll:
2d6: 5 + 1 = 6

@Delwayne asked for a die roll:
2d6: 2 + 6 = 8

@Marx asked for a die roll:
If you are rolling a large dice pool (like, hypothetically, 27 Romulan warships in orbit of Kronos about to lose the game for you, hypothetically), you can also use the “pool” command. As above, but use pool instead of roll.

pool 27d6: 5× 1, 8× 2, 4× 3, 3× 4, 2× 5, 5× 6
