Star Trek Ascendancy game 3

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
System: Deneb V (RRC-4)
Exploration: Writ of Accountability (D6 or discard all Trade Agreements you hold. Then shuffle this into the exploration deck.)
Diplomacy test: d6+1: 4 to exceed 6

So your TAs are returned to their issuers. You still have contact with a Vulcan ship next to Romulus, so you could propose that they re-exchange now; Klingons are still technically uncontacted.

3 commands left.

I think I have 4 commands left. I believe I should have 6 in total because I commissioned a starbase last turn.

Commands 3,4&5: Science Fleet 1 enters warp, adds a warp token, then explores south from Thonolan IV.

Also, I can’t help but notice there are now two Deneb V’s. There is one linked to Argo and the Eagle Nebula in the north-east of the board. I assume this isn’t intentional?

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Argh?

Thanks!

Let us instead give you Trill (PC-5). And yes, 6 commands total.

Space lane: d3+1: 4
System: Temporal Anomaly (H4 Phenomenon-5) (When you take Research, refresh d3-1 Commands.)

Science Fleet rolls for just one ship: lost on 4+, d6: 2

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Which not only gives you 1 Research which can if you wish go to Imperial Science Initiative, but refreshes
d3-1: 2
commands.

so you have 3 commands left (4 again, 5 again, 6).

(Such a great system!)

So Nice It was Drawn Twice.

(I wonder what the Deneb Light Cavalry would think of that)

Yes, research on to Imperial Science Initiative please.

Command 4: ship at Trill enters warp.
Commands 5&6: Science Fleet 1 enters warp then explores, trying to find a system to connect to the space lane that has a Federation ship at the end of it.
I’m guessing this will involve nudging Rog down slightly so that a system fits in the cyan placeholder then swinging the Temporal Anomaly to a suitable position based on the space lane length. Although a lot of this relies on me correctly imagining what the board currently looks like!

(I’ll also have some trade agreements to offer once this is complete, so my turn won’t immediately end after the final command.)

Just had a thought, looking at the map- is it possible for the ship and the space route that is currently not attached to anything to just attach to Rog, as opposed to trying again for Dakala? I hadn’t even considered that option and tbh it would be fine with me.

(And i hope fine with @RossM since Federation and Ferengi are on good terms)

We agree to resume the trade we had.

I would be happy but Rog can only have one space lane attached to it.

Peace is good for business.

but that is if he made the offer? don’t think he stated yet.

Happy to await confirmation

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Space lane length: d3+1: 4

Here’s where things stand right now.

  • You can’t link directly to Sherman’s Planet because it already has three lanes attached.
  • You could connect to Prexnak and the Klingons. (Or Black Hole, but Prexnak would allow immediate trade negotiations.)
  • You could explore into a new system in the placeholder spot next to that Fed ship (thus preventing them from linking Sherman’s to Dakala); before seeing the system you’d have to decide whether you want Temporal Anomaly or the new system to be closer to Klingon space. (I.e. is the route Thonolan-Temporal-(new)-Sherman’s an N or a Z.)

I was imagining something like:

             Thonolan IV
                        \
                         Temporal Anomaly
                        /
Sherman’s Planet - (new)

Does that work?

Not with length 4 - I can’t move Goralis far enough out of the way to make it fit.
