Star Trek Ascendancy game 3

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Space lane length d3+1: 3

Only missing one trick is a fairly good day for me.

OK, you’ll need to pick a lane length that will connect to Dakala, because both Dakala and Sherman’s Planet will become fixed. I’ll assume that’s 2. That gives a position where Sherman’s has to be, and that then links to Pallas.

  • C4 - one ship at Pallas 14 goes to warp
  • C5 - one ship at Earth goes to warp

And you have one Command left. Connecting to Dakala may take multiple attempts - you’ll need to explore until you get a length-2 lane.

Alright then as my last command the ship at Sherman’s Planet goes to warp to explore towards Dakala (in the hope that it’ll be a 2-length lane)

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
You roll the lane length when you come out of warp. But, hmm. If you do C2 ship enters warp, C3 ship adds a warp token, C6 ship de-warps, you can try to add both lanes at once. If that fails, the ship ends up in a lane flapping around from Sherman’s, and you can try again next turn.

d3+1: 4

That works for me. And we’ll try again next turn.

Card 6: Cardassian (@MIGHTYSploosh)

I hope everyone is ready for my grand expansion! /s

Build: 1 research on labor camps card. 1 culture node on Risa and 1 on Bajor. Then 1 ship on Risa and 1 on Cardassia Prime.

End of build is 0p 1r 0c

C1-2: 1 ship at Cardassia Prime explores NW.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Space lane: d3+1: 2
System: Izar (PRO-4)
Exploration: Abandoned Colony (you may immediately Colonise here by spending 1 Culture without sacrificing a Ship.)
(but you don’t have 1 Culture.)

5 commands remain.

At least I have a furtile planet nearby!

That will be the end of my turn.

Although (and I may have missed this detail in the forum), what is the figurine next to Cardassia Prime?

Vulcan ambassador.

Card 7 is the Borg.
Card 8: Romulan (@Assussanni)

@Assussanni asked for a die roll:
Romulan Build Phase

Colonise Thonolan IV (-1 ship, -1c).
Build 1 production node on Thonolan IV (-2p).
Build 4 ships at Romulus (-4p) and form 3 of them into Science Fleet (#1).

End of build phase. 0p, 1r, 3c remaining.

Romulan Command Phase

Commands 1&2: a single ship at Romulus enters warp and explores. Exactly how things get shuffled around will depend on the space lane length, so I’ll roll that now: d3+1: 2

Okay, with that roll can I shuffle Excaliba and Thonolan IV to the right and Delta IV downwards to fit in a new system heading out of Romulus at about 7 o’clock?

Edit: actually, looking again maybe only Delta IV needs to move?

The problem here is the end of the space lane, which gives a minimum angular separation (which is why Excalbia can’t move at all, it’s already as far to the right as it can go without overlapping at the Argo end). I don’t think you can get another space lane out of Romulus with the connections that are there now.

Could you move antipathy all the way down and squeeze in a system where it was. Lots of floating disks there

Oh I see, swinging down Antipathy as well. Yes, I can fit in another system there. Something like this OK?

Nice! If you could swap the positions of Antipathy IV and the new system that would be perfect (unlikely to matter, but I guess you never know). And thanks for the help @RossM .
