Rush 'n' Crush PBF race 1

OK, terminology confusion.

You could use a turbo point early in the turn to go up to speed 10, but you’ve rolled for lane changes now.

You could in theory use the rocket booster to gain extra spaces, which I think was what you meant, but it wasn’t armed at the start of the turn so that’s not an option.

So you’ll end up in that circled space, without the extra heat.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Roger’s turn.

Gearshift to 10 blue, turbo up to 11 blue. I can reload these turbos, right. [GM: no you can’t.]

Lane changes: min(2d6) pool 2d6: 1, 3
No heat.

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
Well bother. Spend a steering point so that I have two lane changes.

End up directly in front of Chewy, who does not have a machine gun.

Activation #1: Use the flamer. Range 1 = 3d6, doing heat on 1-2.
pool 3d6: 1, 2, 5

@RogerBW asked for a die roll:
2 heat to Chewy.

Activation #2: use the rocket booster to gain 2 places.
I gain heat on 1-2: pool 2d6: 3, 6

And all done. Over to @DJCT.

Sorry for all the questions. Can I move along from 10 to the next 10 up? And then boost up to 12?

Oh, no! You singed my hair! I’ll get you back!!! (shaking a fist through the window)

Well, the next 10 is on the same level, but basically yes.

Your free action is one of:

  • stay where you are
  • accelerate (up or right-up 1)
  • brake (down or down-left 1)
  • gearshift (left/right along dotted lines as far as you like)

Then you can spend turbo points to do extra accelerates, or brake points to do extra brakes.

Next Q! So if I gear shift all the way along to the far right ten, I then need to play a turbo to accelerate to 12? And if I do that how many dice do I roll for lane changes?

If you gearshift to blue 10, one turbo would get you to blue 11 or yellow 12.

At speed 12, you’ll roll 3d6 and take the lowest (the black 3 :game_die: symbol on the right side).

@DJCT asked for a die roll:
Thank you yellow 12 please then. @DJCT 3d6: 3 + 1 + 5 = 9

@DJCT asked for a die roll:
Then i think it is 1 die for heat? @DJCT d6: 4

Yes, you’d have gained heat on a 1-3 for using 1 turbo.

So you have 1 lane change; you can spend Steering points to boost that.

If I have counted correctly that puts me one ahead of Chewy? If so then arm machine gun and lay a mine.

If you spend a steering point for a second lane change, you can end up directly in front of Chewy. You lay the mine when you leave the space (but it doesn’t cost one of your activations anyway).

Yep that’s good enough

OK, over to @Lordof1. (Note that that overgrown space two in front of you is an obstruction.)

@Lordof1 asked for a die roll:
Okay, I’d better push my luck a bit here! Accelerate to 10 then turbo up to 12.
Let’s see if that heats me up at all…
