Play Jester, then @lalunaverde plays again to play Jack? The King will only do 10 damage
I think @Assussanni could then get an exact kill with the Ace and the 4?
Jester into Jack of Diamonds looks strong to me.
It sets up the exact kill and draws the King of Diamonds, which we know is on top of the Tavern.

I’m missing something here. Why play Jester to make myself play J 
when I can just play J ?

If you just play the J♦ then you have to defend for 20, which you would have to do with the K♦ that you will draw.
If you play the Jester you only have to defend for 10 (because the 10♠ that Captbnut played previously becomes active after you nullify the K♠’s suit, reducing damage by 10), which you are able to do after playing the J♦ without having to discard the K♦ that you will draw.

I missed that the past spade power can be activated by playing a jester too.

OK, Jester allows 10♠ to reduce attack retroactively. J♦ causes 10 tavern draws as well as doing 10 damage.

Then play Q♠ for 15 damage against the next King and reduce its attack to 5. Discard 2♥ and 4♠ to damage, leaving my hand empty.
