Had a nice game night. First up a 5-player game of Turncoats. I had all red and black in hand and was desperately trying to get red the edge, but pretty much everyone else was pushing blue, who did end up with the win. Which meant the others were all shocked when my wife revealed five blue stones left in hand, an overwhelming victory. She was happy to sit back and let everyone else fight her battles for her!
With warfare settle we moved onto trade and Hansa Teutonica. Of course with five players we saw a lot of different strategies: taking the action town, doing a lot of upgrading, trying to get that east-west connection. I went with a large network (well, 5) and a multiplier upgrade, plus managed to get hold of a few good cities (like Emden - costs a circle but being between two upgrade cities it sees a lot of action, and the purple privilege is needed to steal it away). But what really got me good was the bonus markers that I kept putting on my routes while building my network. I managed to get 10 from those, not to mention the benefit I got from their powers, and take the win.
We finished with a game of KnitWit, which always leads to interesting questions. Is a Sarlacc pit useless? Is the Mariana Trench organic? Just how wet is a hydraulic press really?
