Yay ! That’s what I thought. I’ll change my turn then to try and shoot it with my bow.
@Cokho asked for a die roll:
I should probably roll here :
d100: 30
vs Ranger(bow) 35
(Okay, let’s show the results longform.
First let’s run through the modifiers:
- creature is large (+20)
- bow range is 50 ft, creature is within half of that, so is at short range (+20)
- poor visibility from the fog and gloom (-10)
- torch from Amris has negated further negatives for darkness
I make that a total of +30, so you rolled a 30 vs a skill of 65, so a hit with 3 SLs. That is not all however. Your arrows have the Impale quality, which means any hit that is divisible by ten (in addition to an doubles) scores a critical hit.
You deal 8 damage (3 SLs + 2 strength bonus + 3) to the creature’s body. It soaks 6 damage from it’s armour and toughness bonus, resulting in 2 wounds total inflicted). In addition, please roll a d100 to see what critical wound your arrow has caused.
Meinrad gets +2 Advantage (one for the successful attack, one for attacking a surprised opponent).
@Cokho asked for a die roll:
d100: 78
@Scribbs asked for a die roll:
(That is a Fractured hip result. 4 additional wounds, the Terror is Stunned and there’s a chance it might be knocked Prone.)
d100: 98
vs 45
@Scribbs asked for a die roll:
Meinrad’s arrow whips through the air, pulling some fog behind it’s wake, and thuds into the scaly hide of the beast just above it’s right leg. The beast sprawls to the ground, letting out a roar of surprise and pain.
Round 1
Initiative Order
29 Else ( Fatigued, Fever ) +1 Advantage
56 Amris +1 Advantage
31 Fronika
26 Meinrad +2 Advantage
20 The Teufel Terror ( Stunned, surprised, prone, broken ) 14 yards from Amris
The creature lies where it fell, confused and disoriented by the sudden attacks striking from nowhere, and the roar from Else’s pistol.
End of Round 1, the Terror loses the Surprised condition.
It will attempt to lose the stunned condition
d100: 35
vs 45
It will attempt to rally and lose the broken condition
d100: 6
vs 20
@Scribbs asked for a die roll:
Round 2
Initiative Order
29 Else ( Fatigued, Fever ) +1 Advantage
56 Amris +1 Advantage
31 Fronika
26 Meinrad +2 Advantage
20 The Teufel Terror ( prone ) 14 yards from Amris, 6 wounds taken
(Start of Round 2. The creature lies on the ground where it fell, but turns it’s head and fixed it’s eyes on Amris. It bars its teeth and growls - it seems that it has shaken off the initial shock from your ambush. What’s more, the blood flowing from the arrow wound seems to be slowing…)
d10: 6
wounds healed.
@Griffster77 Else’s turn
Well I least I bought us a turn.
(Is it worth mentioning again that combat in WFRP can be extremely deadly, and that having a stand up fight with every beast or monster might not be very sensible if you care about character longevity?)
I do have to say that seeing a monster come out of a fog, and then just shrug away a impaling arrow straight to its hip makes Meinrad want to reconsider his motivation for camping out all night. Now might be the right time for a “tactical retreat”
Else will stride out of the hut like an avenging angel with an angry snarl. She’ll move to point blank range (if possible?) and fire her other pistol.
You’ll only get to the same distance away as you now are (basically out the door and around to the front gets you next to the outside wall) - 16 yards away.
Move and shoot will also give you a penalty to hit. You are better remaining stationary if you wish to shoot again.
Ok, Else will blaze away through the same hole.
Whats my range?
16 yards, so normal range. Full list of modifiers:
+20 large target
-10 bad visibility
-10 fatigue
+10 for your 1 Advantage
So rolling at +10.
@Griffster77 asked for a die roll:
Rightio. Else’s roll
d100: 22
vs 66 (56+10) Ranged (Pistol)
Woohoo! A crit!
Wounds = (4SL + 8 pistol damage) - 6 for Toughness Bonus/Armour = 6 wounds. Correct?
Do you roll for the crit or do I?
Your pistol shot is also penetrating, so it ignores the scaly armoured hide, so 8 wounds.
Please roll [d100] for the crit.
@Griffster77 asked for a die roll:
d100: 82
for crit
Oooh that could hurt
@Scribbs asked for a die roll:
d10: 6
