Whilst everyone is looking at the new fungus growths, or repairing the automaton in a shed, or training the young, the sudden noise of rubber on tarmac is heard.
The plane that once circled, long forgotten, taxis to a halt on the newly cleared runway.
A hatchway unfolds and two automatons, painted purple step out, taking up defensive positions. Each holds a ceremonial device, resembling the guns of the olden times.
Then a man in a purple robe steps down, unfolds a small chair and sits patiently between them…

We’re assuming this will end badly, they could help us. I don’t think there’s any need to assign fault here, we’re in this together, let’s concentrate on this situation first.

The people from beyond the drop have been spying on us! They’ve come to kill us all! 
It was those damned kids in that damned tower! We never should have let them play with what was in there. We should have trained them to be scouts and assassins to begin with and none of this would have happened!

Scrambling in from the West comes a group of maybe ten men. They’re obviously malnourished, wearing rags for clothes that have seen many better days. Each of them brandishes a makeshift weapon; branches with pieces of metal tied to them, broken pieces of automaton with sharpened edges.
The one who’s presumably their leader steps forward, points his finger towards us and yells “You!!! You let them land that thing here! You’re working with them and their deviant devices”. He dismissively waves at the defensive automatons next to the man in the robe who disembarked from the plane. “Do you side with them?”
We don’t know how long they’ve been chasing the plane, or where they came from, but it looks like the pursuit has taken its toll on them. The wild look in their eyes and gleaming pieces of metal show they’re not afraid to take action against the man from the plane, or those who side with him. Yet they look like a strong gust of wind might blow them over.

The huge bird seems highly enthusiastic about the Great Flying Brother. But many others would rather them leave. Of course, they’d rather be able to decide without spears pointed at their heads.
