“Oy!” “Wut?” Just chat (The Return of)

What’re you talking about? It’s balmy, we’ve got the first sun today in a week and the temperature’s nearly double digits! The ice has nearly even defrosted (it’s 2pm btw.)

I haven’t even nearly caught hypothermia this winter. It’s been great.

Anyway, did I mention we have sheep? Sheep are lovely.

Speajing of, did you see three of them are calling to abandon our elimination strategy and open the borders? I just don’t understand…

I’d say there are quite a lot of sheep on the North Island too! I visited a sheep farm that had over 100,000 sheep!!!

Yes, we have plenty up North too. My work completely depends on them (I work in a petfood factory), and I am glad there’s so many

Pubs reopened in the UK yesterday. I went to the one at the end of my road (they know me there and they’re good people). One-way flow, drinking at tables or in the beer garden. The landlord was in hospital for a month and one of the part-time staff has died of COVID-19, so they’re taking it at least mildly seriously.

It appears that around 2020-07-30T16:00:00Z, my partner and I will be the owners of 3 mortgages and 2 houses.

Certainly that ought to allow me to live down owning 3 copies of Roads & Boats.

Following such a time, we will be scrambling to get our current house sold… And get back down to 1 house and, more importantly, 1 mortgage.

Congratulations, I hope everything goes well on the move. What a weird time to sign it (from local perspective will be 4.00 am Auckland time  )

I’m more a nutella burrito kind of person… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Peanut butter and Marmite here…

I was introduced to that recently by a friend. A very fine perversion.

Haha, growing up with a lot of food bank food, PB & J sandwiches on tortillas were not an uncommon item. Much better than supplementing jelly with jello.

That is a most adequate term to describe it.

Do we have a thread for things we collect? I feel like I’m just not searching properly.

There’s the “recently purchased board games” thread. Are you implying you collect things other than board games? How do you find the time!

(Seriously, no not that I’ve noticed. There’s a few specific collection threads like watches or board game tables but I haven’t see a general collections thread)

That was on the old forum. “What do you collect (other than board games)” was the title, I think.

Yep, I made that one, but there’s not yet a successor.

I collect things other than boardgames: excuses to buy more boardgames!

I wonder how many boardgame enthusiasts recognise themselves as collectors.

I suppose I have to say I am - there’s no other way to explain my 77 games, given how infrequently some of them get played. I never pictured myself as a collector though, and I buy games purely to play them…

It’s a funny thing. By that standard I collect whisky. Have plenty of it, but it’s all for drinking. Eventually.

I think I accepted I was probably a boardgame collector after I had three games unplayed for more than a year after I brought them. Same as above though, I fully intend to play them. Eventually.

Otherwise I think I collect hobbies. Charcuterie, blacksmithing, baking, sausage making, gardening, flower drying, and probably others.

I’d love to learn more about this at some point. It’s fascinating - something I may some day look into
