I’m always slightly perturbed by erroneous speech marks as per this sign I spotted today. Is really 2021, or more importantly is it really pizza? If it’s pizza like, what is it?
I don’t know what “you” are talking about.
Clearly, it’s “pizza” and I don’t “understand” what you are “concerned” about.
Also, a bit of a factual note: Pizza was invented prior to 2021.
If only there was a hate button
Same here! BGG buddies, that sounds fun.
I only have those of you as buddies that I have found through various means … I am easy to find Same name as here.
I have also added a bunch of reviewers to quickly find them when I get curious plus a bunch of random people who seem to enjoy similar games…
Meanwhile https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/USERNAME?played=1&rated=0&ff=1
will show you games for which you’ve logged plays but not put in a rating.
My parents have a very funny story about goint to Indianapolis in 1972 to canvas for . At the end of the day (I am pretty sure it was a sunday), they tried to find somewhere to eat, but everything was closed. (Indy has a very well deserved reputation for rolling up sidewalks at 6pm). They eventually found a place that said “pizzeria” on it, and was open. They went in. It looked like a pizzeria. It had tables, with red checked table cloths, cheese shakers, etc. Also, telephones. They tried to order a pizza, to utter bewilderment of the person there. They later learned it was a remote for a bookie operation. Pick up the phone, talk to the bookie, pay the cashier (or collect your winnings, depending.) Pizza was only on offer a couple days a week, but betting was an all the time affair.
Maybe don’t trust those cheese shakers so much.
I’ve tagged posts on Ra, but have missed this. Have they got a release date yet?
No post. I only saw Ian O’Toole by chance in the credits among the artists. Then, did a quick mental check that O’Toole haven’t done any of the editions. I check the versions tab and saw that he is credited for the 25th Century Games, which is one of the upcoming editions.
So some people I know were saying (on the BGG Leaving Earth forums) how nice and in-period it would be to have a nomogram for doing rocket calculations. Half an hour later I’d learned basic PyNomo
, and:
rockets.pdf (80.1 KB)
(Though I think this is the planning diagram, and individual diagrams for each rocket would be easier to use in practice.)
I don’t know much about nomographs, but is there a way to add the cost calculation of money-per-mass?
Not sure if it’s doable for the multi-rocket diagram, but something ought to be possible.
Just a short FYI. I was in the KS so I got the news that the „Useful Box“ for Obsession will be available (and indeed is up for preorder on at least one of my usual haunts) soon. It has some „fixes“ for the last edition like an additional meeple, an additional player aid, reprints of some misprinted tiles, clearer objective cards etc. and a bit of new content. I do not know if any of you bought Obsession… just thought you might want to know. It is $5 plus whatever shipping is. Other than that Dan wrote that delays for the new printing are a nightmare…
I’ve pre-ordered Obsession from a UK shop which I guess means it’ll be the 2nd ed base game whenever the next shipment reaches the UK?
Is there a suggested method for getting the Useful box (eg: from them direct only)?
Suggested method is either by getting it from Spiral Galaxy directly which is the main distributor to UK/EU or any shop that offers it… (fantasywelt.de has it listed)
If you preordered and haven‘t got it yet you should be getting the second printing or is it really a second edition? Probably that. This includes the fixes, I would think he has included the new content with that. Need to check the BGG forums.
Edit: the Kickstarter was already second edition, so this is second printing of second edition that is „now“ coming to shops.
Should be easy to check if the fixes are in once it arrives, yeah.
There is also Dan Hallagan‘s post on the Shipping Issues situation… Current Production and Shipping Realities Impacting Our Hobby (and the restocking of the Obsession family of games) | Obsession
I know it is just another one of „those“ posts that are currently everywhere as every designer, publisher etc. is letting us know why everything is late or getting more expensive.
I doubt this will resolve itself anytime soon. I think the prices are only going up from here and not just by the usual price inflation that we tend to be able to overlook…
I’ve been following updates for the Useful Box. A number of retailers are taking preorders, but Dan himself is handling US sales and he isn’t taking preorders yet. I think there are retailers taking preorders in Germany, UK, and Canada; maybe a few other places.
If you are in the US, Mexico, or central/south America, you should contact Dan directly and get on his newsletter mailing list to be notified when he is selling Useful Boxes – or (outside the US) have any large retailer that serves your area contact Dan to arrange for stock.
Europeans can either pre-order from an existing store or have their preferred store contact Spiral Galaxy, who is managing distribution for UK and EU.
For people outside of the Americas and Europe there are other avenues; I just don’t recall what they are other than there is a distributor for Australia and Asia
