This channel is scratching the sort of itch that Map Men does. Also, shout out to Bourne End!
If your name was Aaron A. Aaronsson and you lived at 123 Main St, nobody would ever believe you.
I used to work with a DBA named John Null. His email was null@…. First time I got an email from him, I was sure it was a test going wrong.
When I was at school, someone wrote a MUD in Pascal. Due to a misunderstanding of array indices, there was an accidental NPC called Null the Null.
The milk bottle top colour video was also fantastic!
I tested the eyes of a Runequest illustrator today.
I don’t think she was expecting me to be quite so excited

traveling home today. the Öresundbridge train lines broke down and we missed our train in Kopenhagen by over an hour. we had planned to be there almost an hour early. oh well. at least we didn’t have to buy new tickets. but now instead of 9pm we’ll get home tomorrow 6am if all of that works out
I blame Skanetrafiken for being unable to organize an orderly Schienenersatzverkehr. and Danish Train services for being unable to book people on trains without a seat reservation even when things get chaotic. meh. i thought Deutsche Bahn was the worst but… I think… it’s all just too fragile
Last week I got a notification email about Broloppet, a half-marathon that was run across the bridge on 15 June…
I hope you manage to make it home without too much more trouble.
But this reminds me of science fiction, where the universal translator inserts “untranslatable”, instead of doing a translation. (Google’s translate tool suggests “rail replacement service”, which is more or less what I was guessing.)
they use buses to transport people instead of trains. trains across the bridge are still cancelled. apparently one of the power lines ripped apart.
we’re also still waiting for the train that they rebooked us on.
funny enough had we caught our original train in Kopenhagen we still would would have missed our connection in Hamburg. but trains from Hamburg leave every hour. and in Germany once you miss a connection your ticket becomes valid for any train going in the right direction without seat reservation.
it’s sucks to be in an overfull train. but in Denmark we have to wait 6 hours to continue our trip because no seats were available earlier. i think i prefer suckage over strict bureaucracy
Today is the Summer Solstice. Enjoy the sun
I’m enjoying the afternoon cloud and rain. It was cool last night, and i got to catch up some sleep.
You lucky thing. Came home from night shift at midnight and the temperature was still uncomfortably warm. Couldn’t sleep, and had to have a whisky and a read (Miles M.52 book by Eric Winkle Brown), finally managed to get to bed for 3am. Luckily my wife slept through it all!
My dad send me an article from the local paper about a guy with a huge boardgame collection.
That collection has over 150 games.
Cute.
I spoke to a guy who runs a board game cafe in London, he said he had just over 300 when he decided to start the cafe, which I have started using as a fun reference point for collection size…
He has more games than I do. What a guy!
I only read the full article now. It’s actually about a boardgame meetup… since it’s not far maybe I can find the time to say hi to some semi-local gamers
