I did badly at supply chains in my game of Slipways just now
I agree, Ben and Holly is way better, I love it. Even now my girls enjoy watching it now and then (they’re 11 and 7) but they hate Peppa: “That’s for babies, dad!”
Went to the British Library to see some authors talk about Fantasy.
The Fantasy exhibition there until February is really, really good (here’s the only ever copy of Beowulf, from the year 1000) but this was a separate one-off talk about writing about faerie and how characters travel there.
Included American author and multi-award editor Terri Windling who wrote the lovely “The Wood Wife”, which inspired a friend of mine to literally travel to the Sedona Desert.
Edit: oh, meant to say, leading the discussion was a “Professor of Fantasy” from Glasgow, so that’s my new life goal right there.
Taking notes furiously…
Got a new tumble dryer as the old one properly died. Has an app for some reason, I download the app and it requires me to make an account before I’ve evaluated it’s usefulness.
I guess I’m not using it then, I’ll stick to the old fashioned way of using it.
IoT was invented so companies who previously didn’t know much about you could get your data. It’s not called “Internet of Things” for nothing. They builders of “physical machines” were envious of all those tech companies who were getting your data. (Or so is my theory)
Further investigation (I was reading the paper manual to find out what drying mode I needed) showed that it also needs to be in WiFi mode on the settings dial.
Even less reason to use it.
“You’ve never actually seen a train, have you?”
(Further investigation reveals that this is being run by Secret Cinema, which has a history of not paying its freelancers, so it’s entirely plausible they may have used “AI”.)
This is defo AI. No ome reviewed the output and said “this is good”
no no this is a new type of train: the SUV Train, takes up twice as much space as older trains.
I want to know what they do when the tracks split.
Deploy the wings?
(The anime series The Big O had its giant mecha transported under the city on parallel train tracks.)
It took me entirely too long to work out what was wrong here. Am… am I the AI?
I must admit that first I thought you were all picking on the perspective and how tiny the train is against the size of the tunnel; then I looked down
The more I look, the more faith I lose in people.
Must be track for those dually-trains.
Honestly, people.
It quite clearly says ‘magical’ on the poster.
Obviously train tracks in magical worlds aren’t going to be like boring real ones.
