Leaving Earth (Base Game and Mercury) Pbf

First of all let’s Re-Enter that last Vostok, and if it survives that try to Land it, in both cases buying off any outcome.

@RogerBW the re-entry suffers a major failure and is destroyed.

Outcome removed for $5

Spend ¤15 on a Saturn and ¤5 on a random pilot astronaut. End turn.

ISAS :jp: turn:

  • Supernova fires thruster to continue from Inner Planets to Ceres
  • From that one working probe I have in Leo, I want to Survey Solar Radiation–if it’s a failure, I spend $5 megabucks to fix the tech.
  • Buy 1 Soyuz Rocket for $8 and a probe for $2 and combine them into a rocket I’ll preemptively call Fireballs and try to shoot the probe into LEO. I’ll buy off whatever the result is.
  • in the financial “best case” I may have $10 left, I’ll land my broken Temptation II probe from LEO on Earth and buy off the result.
  • Depending on previous steps, I may still have $5 left that I can offer as a loan (if nobody takes me up on that until the end of the year, I’ll buy an Atlas Rocket for $5)

I hope this is not too complicated. I’ll help out with clarifications if necessary.

PS: My partner really likes Scott Manley’s videos… especially the recent one about ugly rockets struck a cord with us and we wondered if Scott has ever played Leaving Earth?

@yashima

As you move onto Ceres, are you happy for me to reveal the card or do you want me to randomise the draw, show only you and then decide if your revealing the card or destroying the spacecraft?

Surveying was a success and removed for free.

Fireballs successfully launches into earth orbit. $10 to remove.

I believe that leaves you with $5?

I think I need a few more years to arrive on Ceres, right? I’ll generously share whatever I find on Ceres.

$5: If anyone wants a credit… shout. Otherwise buy an Atlas Rocket.

Over and out :slight_smile:

CNES Launches Soyez with a juno attached.

Major Failure! Pay $5 to remove.

Buy a second Soyez $8, attach a juno and fire to LEO.

Success, remove for free.

Total cost so far, $13

can I do a slight retcon for my $5?
Before spending my $5 bucks: Land the broken probe from orbit, if failure buy it off if success leave it and do what I previously did. I’m fine if this happens after everyone else has acted. Just a chance to get rid of a failure or repair that probe.

The landing was successful.

CNES finish their year by purchasing an Ion thrusters and a probe.

@pillbox

NASA will test its Saturn rocket and payoff the result.

Remainder of the turn depends on that outcome.

A slight rumble of smoke…

And a success! (Pay $10 to remove.)

NASA will purchase another Saturn rocket and conclude actions for the year

Lovely. France is also finished for the year.

@RogerBW and @yashima? Anything by else? (I’m assuming @yashima will buy the atlas rocket mentioned.)

If both of you are finished roll your d100.

(Pillbox is still last.)
