I have 5 Junos. Can I fire 2 of them to suborbital for testing? Pay for both outcomes. If there’s still a fail, fire the third one and pay that too
OK, with 30 money, firing Juno #1. Success, paid off, 20 left.
Firing Juno #2. Success, paid off, 10 left.
Firing Juno #3. Success, free to remove.
You have 10 money left, and 2 Junos in stock (plus the Atlas and the Saturn).
Hang on. All of my rockets are on Earth? So Atlas+Saturn returned?
In that case, launch Saturn and pay the outcome. Buy Atlas, if spare money
Yes, the Saturn had a Minor Failure so it never took off.
Drawing Saturn: success, so removing it takes the remainder of your budget.
You end up with one Atlas and one Juno.
@RossM to play. You have a sheaf of five Juno in Earth Orbit, and no hardware on the ground.
Pay $10 to purchase a joint venture (IRI)
Gift one of the shares to @yashima.
Hey @yashima, now that we can trade, do you want to lend me your saturn tech with one outcome on it?
If you do, I’ll buy a saturn, test it, paying off any outcome, and then return the tech with no outcome cards left on it to you.
Sounds like an offer too good not to take you up on.
I think formally that’s:
- ISAS turn: transfer Saturn tech to IRI
- CNES turn: transfer Saturn tech to CNES, buy Saturn, test, transfer tech to IRI
- ISAS turn: transfer tech to ISAS
So it’s all fine, but is anything else happening this CNES turn?
Or possibly even not use IRI as an intermediary? I’m not at all clear on how the sequencing works niw.
I think that once we are both part of IRI we become “Trading Agencies” (Page 21, Stations) and can trade directly with each other.
So I think.
CNES Turn Nothing.
ISAS Turn Share Saturn Tech
CNES Turn Buy Saturn, Test Saturn tech, pay off outcome and share completed research with ISAS, and maybe spend any money left.
as far as I read stations, as soon as you are a trading agency you can trade with all other trading agencies. you become a trading agency by having a share in a joint venture. hence my original proposal…
Yeah, I need to sort out what can be transferred when. I’ll resolve the Saturn test in the morning.
It can’t me that you can only give things on your turn. You need to be able to swap stuff.
So “on its turn a TA can give or receive hardware, money, advancements, etc. to/from another TA” perhaps?
This seems a slightly odd rule… all agencies basically have to pay a ‘trading tax’ before they can trade?
I think. Do we want to ask Joe? He’s pretty responsive on BGG
Oh, also, happy to sell a share to each of the other players for $3 each.
I’'l check with Joe - we’re chatting once in a while anyway.
The Saturn costs 15, and removing the major failure costs 5, so that leaves you on zero money. I’ll take my turn shortly, but now is a good time for everyone to consider whether you want another turn this year.
NASA has ¤5, CNES has a cluster of 5 Junos in Earth Orbit.
ОКБ-1 turn 1958.1
(The national anthem is now being played without words, because some of them refer to Stalin, and five years on we’re pretty sure he’s dead.)
| action | cost | left |
|---|---|---|
| Buy large fuel tank | 6 | 24 |
| Buy large fuel tank | 6 | 18 |
Combine shuttle LL and large fuel tank
Manoeuvre shuttle LL to Sub-Orbital Space
Minor failure - LL is damaged. Pay off failure leaving one card and ¤13.
| action | cost | left |
|---|---|---|
| Buy Surveying advancement | 10 | 3 |
| Buy share in IRI | 3 | 0 |
So that’s end of round 1. Any further actions wanted this year?
NASA: ¤5; Juno-3, Atlas-1, Re-Entry 3, Soyuz 1, Saturn 3; damaged Atlas.
ОКБ-1: ¤0; Re-Entry 3. Atlas 3, Shuttle 1, Surveying 1; probe, damaged Shuttle, 2 LFT
ISAS: ¤0; Juno 2, Atlas 3, Saturn 0, Re-Entry 3, Rendezvous 3; damaged Saturn, Juno, Probe.
SAC: ¤0, Juno 0, Atlas 3, Rendezvous 3, Soyuz 3, Saturn 1; Atlas, Juno.
CNES: ¤3; Rendezvous 3, Saturn 0, Juno 3, Atlas 3, Re-Entry 3; 5 Juno in Earth Orbit.
I’ll spend the $3 from share selling on a probe and a Juno.
In other news, my boffins have been working on how best to not lose an American in space. Current best solution: hire Canadians.
Worked with Shatner.
You going to do anything with that 5 money?
Yes please! Buy 1 Juno, fire it off, and repeat until I get a fail. If I’ve got any money left after that I’ll have a look at what to buy.
