And it’s better than the modern editions!
Got two of these in a trade: Wildcatters which is a game from Capstone Games, and Senators, which is designed by Rikki Tahta.
Both Paths of Glory (Deluxe Edition) and All Bridges Burning are on their way.
From GMT, of course.
got a surprise package today without any kind of announcement… weird but i had been a little worried that it got lost somewhere… felt like we going to be the last person to get this

Ooh. Enjoy.
Spirit Island seems like the kind of game we’d love, but we didn’t enjoy our play of it.
I’d like to know how Wildcatters is. I don’t know the game, apart from Edward of Heavy Cardboard has it on his top 50.
what is it?
Judging from the bottom-right card, it’s the new Wingspan expansion?
I don’t subscribe to HC. I only know that it’s an economic game (or, at least, to some extent). It was the only reason why it’s in my wishlist.
Sure. I’ll report back in the Last Game Played thread. But at this time, it’s gonna be a while before I get a chance.
No. it’s my looooong awaited Spirit Island Kickstarter. I’m still building the insert…
Do report on Bridges - interested but at personal coin limit (Falling Sky and Distant Plain and the 2 player Algerian one).
That said the email announcing one set on future Mars that came in last night caught my attention too. Almost p500’d but frankly have no idea about post brexit taxes so may have to wait until either that gets clearer or I can get it in the UK
Sure. But it will be a while; my backlog is reaching epic proportions. I have already put a P500 on the Martian COIN, and also Expansion or Extinction which is a space 4x using the Triumph and Tragedy engine (a space block game!)
The only other things I have in the pipeline with GMT right now are the new Dominant Species: Marine, and the People Power COIN dealing with the Philippines.
I built my insert this week after receiving that box on Tuesday. Set up a game from it last night and was impressed at the efficiency saving. It did the right kind of things for making set up and tear down just a bit easier and a bit quicker. Big tick there, however…
While I don’t have a problem with them redesigning it from how it was originally advertised I was quite annoyed that they carried on pretending it could all still go in one box. While the advertised lid lift may be accurate the fact that the bottom half finishes around 1mm below the lip of the box makes it so unstable that it’s not actually feasible to store it so. Boo, to fallacious advertising!!
Having tried 6 new Spirits so far I’m also enjoying the new designs. Plus some comments on powers I’ll save until you’ve played a bit
UK and I’ve P500’d it despite not knowing the landscape.
Looking forward to it. I enjoy COIN games but as they’re historical they have to tow a certain flow of history. Which is fine but perhaps limits the creativity a bit.
I am very excited on these two. I am a big fan of Dominant Species. And The Marcos dictatorship is an interesting subject to me. I was born in 1991 so I didn’t experienced it.
Nice haul.
It’s exciting.
I don’t know Eclipse, but it looks like a financial trade up that I got in return for a game we never play.
I’m nervous about the theming in Puerto Rico, but I figure both of those can get played and then potentially go back in the next Maths trade.
Incan Gold and The Resistance are probably more for after lockdown due to player count.
Watergate and Decrypto are both games I really wanted but was unlikely to buy.
I’ve been playing a lot of Incan Gold (aka Diamant) on BGA. It’s great fun
I’m interested to hear what you think of Watergate.
I’m going to buy Diamant, so I’m up for hearing any reviews of Incan Gold!
