Finally. It looks really pretty on the outside, but I wonder, is there a good game behind that shiny facade? :stuck_out_tongue:

Have a look at BGG images :joy: Joshua Star made huge improvements with the art and UI

Well, I didn’t double check this order… but we have already figured out who is getting the second copy of Frosted Blooms as a ā€œhousewarmingā€ gift for their first apartment (probably along with my current gaming table, our old kitchen table)

Frosted Blooms is a total blind-buy because there is a glittering tulip on the cover. The only thing I checked before ordering was that it is soloable. I only saw later that it is indeed a Cathala (one of my favorite designers) and I only realized when I opened it that it is a polyominoes game (one of my favorite mechanisms). So: Yay?!? (I will hopefully get to try it today or tomorrow) Normally, I do more research about games. And I skipped all the other tulip games of the last few years… I think it must have been the glitter.

After having played Sidereal once now, I felt I had the right to acquire the expansion

I am still missing two more Concordia maps and my box already has lid-lift with this one. I don’t yet know what I will do with Rome #2.

Bandida: solo tile laying with routes is already present im my collection but only in one iteration (Trailblazers) so I felt a 2nd game was all right.

Rainbow: has a unicorn on the cover and rainbows. That’s reason enough right now to want it.

Rainbow is a solid one round, 10 minute trick taker.

I ordered Unmatched: Stars and Stripes, a US themed box containing a somewhat steampunk Rosie the Riveter (in a mech suit), John Henry, a pre-President George Washington with the Culper Spy Ring, and lastly Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.

Eventually I will need to stop purchasing Unmatched sets. But today is not that day (or Tuesday, which is when I actually ordered it).

I’m immediately sold.

It is kinda crazy to me that this is a sentence. ALL?

(This isn’t a dig at you @yashima - more that it is unbelievable how niche boardgaming can be in the hunt for new themes!)

Windmill Valley (2024?)
Gift of Tulips (2022)
Tulpenfieber (2021)

those are the three I was thinking of. Windmill Valley is the most present with expansions and two player iteration.

Tulips are my favorite flower to put in a vase and during the season they are available (which thanks to world weirdness starts in January now) I often buy a dozen to celebrate the anticipation of spring. since moving my dad brings me a bunch almost every week  (when they are available of course)

I don’t put any other flowers in vases, tulips are a weird exception. But they say spring to me like nothing else. :tulip::tulip::tulip:

ps Other flower themed games also include tulips of course f.e. Floriferous

Nice that you have Bifurcation. I haven’t even played this expansion!! But there’s a new upcoming expansion for Sidereal Confluence. You should look into that one

There’s Tulip Bubble as well

Bought the Bordeaux expansion for Viticulture.

It seems like it’ll make a huge positive difference to the game: 2x vine and 2x wine cards face up all the time, so you’re not stuck blind-drawing things you can’t use, more generous bonuses for everyone on the wake-up track. And it’s cheap.

We went to a ā€œby-the-poundā€ Goodwill the other day and while wandering around the bins, I saw Unlock: Heroic Adventures. Well, I saw the box lid. Digging through the bin, I saw cards everywhere, and eventually the bottom, rules, and some small booklets. I grabbed everything I saw and tried counting all the cards. The rules say there’s 180 cards, plus a 10 card tutorial. Found the tutorial cards and counted over 180, so hoped I had it all. Probably cost a few bucks

Got it home and sorted it all out. Have all of the video game scenario. All of the Sherlock scenario. All but one card of the Alice in Wonderland scenario. So close!

If anyone has this and could provide a scan of card 36, I’d appreciate it.

A friend of mine certainly had this, though he trades games a lot. I’ll ask.

Sorry, no, he’s moved it on now.

That’s okay. I’m willing to bet a post on BGG will get what I need. Thanks for checking!

Bought Forest Shuffle: Dartmoor as my partner will love it, and she used to live in a tiny village in Dartmoor!

What a coincidence! I also bought it 2nd hand for £14

There’s the expansion this year, which I will try to get in UKGE

Found Castle Panic at Goodwill for $15. All accounted for except for the d6, which is easily replaced. I have long considered picking this up as a light coop game.

There’s been a lot of retail therapy recently. Some of this is crowd-funding. Some is online sales. None of it has actually arrived yet, and who knows when I’ll get around to playing it all (but hopefully not ā€œneverā€).
