Picked up a copy of Harmonies, but didn’t get a chance to play it at our board game night. Looks pleasant and will hopefully land well with my partner.
Also got The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring: The Tricktaking Game (surely I’ve flubbed that title a little) since we watched Bakshi’s animated(?) Lord of the Rings film and felt inspired.

Faraway: People From Below has arrived. Very much ā€œmore of the sameā€, a bit like Extra Salt for Sea Salt & Paper.

Nine large cards, eight small ones, no new rules unless you count some new scoring combos (X per set of 3 resources, Y per grey card).

I just heard about the term ā€œaspirational clutterā€ today. That pretty much describes my game collection.

That last game I bought was Civolution when it first became available, but I haven’t opened it up since my initial piece sorting (losing 1 in the process) and constructing the boards (1 of which tore slightly, but I think I managed to salvage it).

ā€œAspirational clutterā€ is such an apt description of my game collection as well!

I’ve been sick this week, so I pity-bought myself Beacon Patrol. I’m going to shamelessly blame @yashima and @Phil for this

I stand by my love of the game. I’ve recently had it back on the table.

Got a delivery including formidable farm, juicy fruits and gold west.

Only played Juicy fruits so far - it’s a good time. Perhaps a bit too isolated but a nice puzzle.

The expansion exists too :eyes:

That pre-order has arrived (and I can use the retail therapy right now).

(I added the reference Scout, and Marlowe added the reference Feather.)

For no obvious reason RAVEL’s single punch board is 4mm thick, which is amongst the thickest cardboard I’ve ever seen in a game (I think only the mountain tiles for my version of Survive might exceed it, but I’d need to check).

My recent retail therapy arrived

Heißer Scheiß! as the locals would say.
:fire::fire::fire:

Yes we have need of a buzzer.

ps I am just noticing the similar color schemes on Diamant and Hot Streak. (Endeavor is at least very yellow in the front as well)

First tulips of the year. The only flower I enjoy putting in a vase. They look so lovely even as the slowly decay into a baroque ā€œvae vanitasā€ still

It all looks a bit like a volcano. (If a very surprising one.)

Edit: Or this fellow:

This big box arrived the other day. I believe it also contains Vinhos, so that brings us up to 4 difficult-to-table Lacerdas

I take no responsibilty for this!

Vinhos 2016 Vintage is mid weight. I’d play both modes but it’s been a while since I played 2010 Reserve

Picked up Wyrmspan for a Valentines Day gift since my partner was particularly interested in it. They like Wingspan and dragons so makes sense! I think they’ll enjoy it a lot but it has led to an odd situation:

  • Got Wingspan as a gift a few years ago from my dad. I wouldn’t have bought it myself but I was curious to try it, so it was a good pick.
  • Later asked for the European expansion as a gift from him, since I think it’s nice to have the UK birds.
  • Picked up Wingspan: Asia myself for its 2 player focus to try a bit more of a head-to-head version with a bit more interaction at 2.
  • Oceania expansion was gifted to me at Christmas. Don’t feel like I need it but I’m looking forward to trying the new mechanics.
  • For my birthday my flat mate got me Finspan. Again, not something I would have picked up but sure, I’m interested to try it.
  • Now we have Wyrmspan!

Which means that I have every piece of game-mechanics content for Wingspan and its spin-offs, apart from the Wyrmspan expansion, now sitting on my shelves. I don’t think anyone should have so much Wingspan content unless it’s their favourite game… I like Wingspan well enough but it’s certainly not my favourite. Usually I’d pick something else to play, although I do find it good for introducing people to ā€œmodernā€ games; people like the theme!

Will be trying out Oceania, Finspan and Wyrmspan over the next few weeks and looking forward to seeing the differences! But not looking forward to it enough to justify the whole collection

Gifts are like that. Someone gifts you something you like and now its a safe area for further gift giving.

It was like that with my mother and rabbit-themed gifts until she had to put her foot down and tell the family not to get her any more rabbits.

I spoke too soon! The new ā€œAmericasā€ expansion has just come out, so I’m also missing that one. It’s got hummingbirds in.

Before the Americas expansion, I didn’t know that hummingbirds were only in the Americas. (My North American bias is showing.)

Oh-so-shiny Indonesia finally arrived. I do hope I can find people to play it.
