It’s LLV’s fault. Completely. No question. It’s on my Christmas list because of him and his raving about it.
I bought
- Artengarten
- Deckers
at FLGS today. In part it was a Xmas present to myself and the other half was shopping therapy after a stressful week at work. Just as I got home I received mail that the big order I was waiting for is on the way. It got held up by the Seti expansion. So early next week I’ll also have
- Pulitzer,
- Take Time,
- the Seti expansion,
- another Evergreen expansion and
- the English El Dorado version to fit the English expansions I bought.
(This was my “I wasn’t at SPIEL so I am going to order some games” order. I am also waiting for Recall to become available at a more sensible price but I think it will not be before well into next year but I hear good things from a friend who also enjoys Revive and knows I like that game and says I need to try Recall.)
Also Inis Nemed arrived recently. I managed to get all of Inis into the new expansion box. The old one might fit as well but I am not sure either variant is good idea for actually getting the game out to play rather than “just storage”.
Nemed is one of the last open KS campaigns I had. There’s just the Agricola, Neon Hope and the Oath expansion now for “preorders”.
Take Time is one of the good games I’ve played this year. In Libellud we trust
Cryptid Spot, stock speculation plus hidden roles. Looks weird.
Also got shipping notification for Magical Athlete!
A couple of Kickstarters arrived this week: the all-in mega version of Inis (for which I take no responsibility) and Spokes!
My inis legacy (wrong card backs, boo) and spokes arrived also picked up a copy of moon colony bloodbath.
I have acquired Compile Main 2, Aux 2, and Playmat 2 from Synapse Games from a contest
Picked up main and aux 2 at Essen, but haven’t had an opportunity to play them yet…
Okay, time to post Christmas hauls, peeps!
I received Compile Main 1, Hot Streak, and The Hobbit: There and Back Again roll and write. I also got a (self-purchased) stocking stuffer of the Mandalorian Faction pack for the Star Wars Deck building game.
Got a gift card to our FLGS from my sister-in-law which will likely be spent on either Fromage or Everdell: Silverfrost, as well as The Smurfs Hidden Village from Maryse. Look at the Last Games Played thread for my thoughts on THAT one!
Only one (so far - seeing my family in the next few days): Rebel Princess
Didn’t buy it, but got something called Genius Square in Bad Santa on Xmas day. It’s only a 2p game, so I’ll probably never get to play it.
My partner managed to buy me a game I had never heard of, Alien Nation, which appears to be some kind of cardboard pinball. I will investigate and report!
Got together with our friends today and received DC Super Heroes United: Batman Hush, which I have been hearing pretty good things about. The United series of games has always been a bit off-putting due to the deformed nature of the minis, but I do like me some Batman, and again, I have been hearing positive buzz for this set in particular, so figured I would put it on my list of interested games.
All the GMing I do at the games cafe means I get given a “hamper” for Christmas. The last couple of years had £10 vouchers in, so I grabbed Sea Salt & Paper while I was in there earlier.
I’m interested that we always seem to use ‘grabbed’ rather than simply ‘bought’ for buying games. Seems kinda furtive
acquisition amuses me too, like we are trying to avoid saying ‘spaffed my budgeted for fun money on’
Or indeed ‘blew the rent and the money for the kids’ food and clothes on.’
or possibly UNbudgeted money…
