St Patrick, yet another tricktaker
Ok so bear in mind I love the whole R:GT system.
GT5 is the preferred mode of a lot of serious GT players because the boost die adds significantly to the range of things you can do. Itās easy to teach (and this is just like a brake die but for going up gears). But it doesnāt fundamentally change what the game is about.
Boost die > all
Welp, just got the Rails to the North expansion for Great Western Trail. With my accumulated store point, I got it for $16 with tax. Looking forward to trying it out!
GT5 is by far the most interesting format. The Boost die adds a ton of tactical flexibility.
I splurged a bit on Railways of the World. So I updated my base game box to the 10th Anniversary edition. And Eagle-Gryphon was having a sale on hard to find expansions I missed out on so I bought Railways of North America - itās Canada, but has rules and components for literally the whole CA + US transcontinental game.
I also bought Railways of Nippon (not the stand alone), Railways of Sweden, and the new Railways of Great Britain to replace my old England and Wales exp. This should complete the collection, until they release yet another map expansion.
In a demonstration of why I shouldnāt go into game shops when Iām bored, I bought Sea Salt and Paper and Cosmoctopus. Iām still undecided whether to keep the latter or gift it to my parents - has anyone played it?
cosmoctopus remains one of 5 games i might try to check out tomorrow. but no guarantees.
Whoever came up with the name āCosmoctopusā deserves all of the applause!
My FLGS was bought out by a slightly larger chain here a few years ago. Sadly, they just changed their name to the name of the chain, losing their much more appealing name, even if nothing else is changing. However, to celebrate, they are having a 15% off everything sale, plus one of my credit cards which I havenāt used in years changed servicers, so they converted my rewards points to credit. Just under $10.
So, I picked up BOOoop, as a cute and fun-looking Halloween game.
Amazon is having some discounts, so I ordered the TI4 Prophecy of Kings expansion, the Mansions of Madness Sanctum of Twilight expansion, and the re-release of Dune (without the movie artwork). For just a little over $100, it felt like a pretty good deal.
Picked up Wormholes, a game Iād had my eye on for a while
Making good use of the things that we find,
Things that the everyday folksā¦ ā oh, Wormholes.
ā my brain, circa 1 minute ago.
pondersā¦
āAs the captain of a passenger spaceship newly equipped with a womble fabricator, you can make some serious space bucks by building a robust network of wombles.ā
Iām in! Where do I find the crowdfunding campaign for this?!
Do not mess with Great Uncle Alpha Centauri.
And Iāve bought another, had an email about The White Castle being available from a shop, and I thought āitās top of the hotness, everyone is raving about itā so why not.
Interested in what you think on this one
Just spent an absolute fortune on Marvel Champions, include the NeXt Evolution expansion box and Storm and Angel packs.
Looking forward to Deadpool, who breaks the 4th wall and draws on his card to give himself better stats.
Thanks for @RogerBW , I bought the triple expansion for Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition and the promo for TFM Dice Game. Also got Coup Deluxe. I gave away my previous copy of Coup but didnāt really bothered replacing it. Until now.
Also bought these because trick takers:
- Tricky Badger
- Seas of Strife
