Last game you bought?

So I brought home a small game haul from FLGS (not including children‘s toys and games I bought for friends):

  • Mysterium Park because I like games with pretty cards and this one is the only one of those that plays 2)
  • Trails of Tucana I‘ve been eyeing more route building roll&somethings and I Zee recommended this

Also Pegasus has a huge „welcome back sale“ which FLGS true to form has put up on the upper level of the store without any advertisement downstairs…

In any case this leaves me with a bit of shelf space budget (not that there is actual shelf space right now but rather imagined shelf space I reserved for my present to myself)

Tucana is such a satisfying and simple roll/flip and write. It’s been either first or last game played at the last year or so of games nights.

To be fair, I hadn’t heard anything about it beyond the teases for Yennenga that Restoration released.

As an aside, some from Restoration commented on Twitter or BGG that the Marvel ones are still coming, but it sounds like maybe 2 waves. First 2 by year end (depending on freight issues) and the other 2 later. Probably spring? Hopefully spring! Lol

I really hope restoration games do something cool soon. Maybe once dark tower is out the door but I really like looking forward to what old thing they’ll do next but they seem to have turned into a one item company.

After months of post-purchase deliberation, but only a week or two from delivery, I decided to sell my preorder copy of Coffee Traders to a friend. It was becoming clear that it was going to cannibalize one of my few truly heavy games if I decided to let it stick around, and I’m currently very comfortable with the biggies in my closet. So, off it’ll go sight unseen, at a fabulous buddy discount (though with the caveat he needs to invite me to a game session).

This gave me a little bit of flex to pick up a deluxe edition of Mind MGMT from a domestic OLGS. I dropped the ball and missed the campaign, wasn’t in a position to late pledge when it was an option, and now most recently lost out on the sole copy at a FLGS by mere hours. Hours! Anyway the deluxe edition has some (IMO) essential niceties that were worth the few extra bucks, so I’m pretty happy I was still able to source one of these editions.

Hey, they just announced the remake of Crossbows & Catapults, which I really wanted when I was a kid! Instant sale here!

Snap.

My Dad wouldn’t let me have it.

A couple of years ago my wife got me a second hand set on eBay for Christmas. It’s so much fun

How so? Do you think it is going to be that good? I wasn’t convinced by the previews I have seen and the pricing is just a bit on the high end. This would be one I’d love to try at Spiel. You know where I am glad to get a spot at a table and don’t have to force my friends to try a game…

I was pre-ordering a D&D book from Zatu and they had a few EmperorS4 games for cheap, so I threw in Jiguan and Walking in Burano.

It’s more of a “if I do love it, something will need to get the axe” scenario. I try to keep only a few heavy games in my rotation and all three of them are well liked by my partner. I really don’t want to shake that up, particularly since these are already the games that get to the table the least.

Faiyum came back in stock. I’ve been waiting 6 months for it and still wanted it, so it passed the wishlist test.

I’ve bought quite a few lately - but the last one I bought and just received today is Vinhos Deluxe. I’m super stoked about trying it tomorrow. Looks amazing.

Is jaws of the lion really £35? That seems mad?

In which direction?
