I created new life - shit, I'm a parent now!

I was of a similar age when my first one was born (34) and I don’t envy people having children at an earlier age at all. I am glad I enjoyed my 20s childfree. Plus, I am not sure if I would have been mentally ready.

You know it is not contagious, do you? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
As long as neither of you has a history of twins in the family, it is quite unlikely. But if your partner has twins in her grandparents generation, beware! Fingers crossed, everything should be all right. Best of lucks!

Oh, and congratulations on the new additions to the family!

I feel as though I squandered my 20s doing typical twenty-something things.

In other news, I saw on social media the other day that (while my oldest is 3) someone I went to highschool with (and is approximate my age) will be a grandmother next month

I work with people that are one or two years younger than me and they are grandparents already in their early 40s. Good on them, but I don’t envy them at all.

My 1st (and hopefully only - so much effort!) Is now one and her birthday and Christmas presents have taken over the place. Three days of hard work cutting and drilling later and some boxes in the post, we almost have some floor back!

Looks great!

Custom built? Or store bought?

My partner and I were just talking about finding some toy storage, necessarily with some higher shelves/cubbies so that toys can disappear for a while occasionally (so as to build excitement when it reappears)

Custom.

Thanks

The plan is to put some (safe?) Mirrors in the back of the taller ones with some ornament or something in front of it. Whatever the little terror can’t break.

This does not exist!

That’s an impressive build! Congratulations! Now, hopefully your kid does discover a passion for rock climbing !

Hmmph, just back from a looong day at A&E. My daughter was playing on her scooter in our street and somebody hit her with their car when coming out of their driveway. Result, broken big toe and severe lacerations on such toe skin.

Thank you mate! Grrrr…

At least it looks like she won’t need an operation, but it was on the verge of happening. Cancelling holiday club and farewell to a big part of my sick leave…

I guess she will not be able to dodge my “let’s play a board game” suggestions for a wee while. I’m ordering a curry to ease it off…

Ouch! Here’s to a speedy recovery.

Hope she’s ok.

I hope the curry was good. Fingers crossed for an uneventful and swift return to scootering .

The curry, as usual, was too much. But hey, guess what I have on my lunchbox today

Looking at the bright side, at least this happened during school holidays.

Is it a unicorn?

Nooo, shame. I cannot afford Unicorn curry. Worth a fortune on the black market, I hear. Just simple Lamb dansak with pilau rice…

The toy boxes arrived. They looked neat. Then the little monster found them and started poking, pushing, pulling, and flinging. She’s a menace.

We decided that toy boxes are no good if they can’t see what’s in them. We opted for half-height boxes instead of transparent ones. Didn’t change much - the default is still the boxes pulled out and the toys thrown out as the first order of business.
