How are you today?

The holiday season at a game store is always… an adventure… had a hostile encounter with a dicknose (people who refuse to wear their masks properly, having their noses out) that resulted in several "thank you!"s from other customers and several of my colleagues.

While that was nice, I’d really, really rather not have to confront people. I’m just tired and exhausted and worn out… don’t make this a thing, man, just put your frakkin’ mask on properly for the two minutes you’re browsing the paints.

Other than that, things are… interesting, in the Chinese-curse sorta way. But I will survive. Head down, smile glued on, 20 days to go.

May all of the local douche-canoes realise that they’ve forgotten their wallet before they get to your shop (and place their orders later online so that you may remain gainfully employed).

We are just back from getting our booster shots. A friend knew from a friend who probably knew from a friend that there is this one doctor who is running a vaccination “event” this week-end and we somehow managed to sneak into there.

I am glad I got the booster now but on the other hand I am incredibly disappointed (not to say pissed off) that this is the way these things are right now here. How is it possible to mess up vaccination campaigns twice in one year? Oh well, I got my booster and I’ll shut up now.

Overall, some of the stressful things in my life are letting up a little. I even managed to practice yoga 2 days in a row for the first time in months.

Now I am off to make my photo calendars: one with pictures from our year (normally travel pics…) and one with pictures from all of our friends which I then distribute to those same friends for Christmas.

And then there’s this - Man Tries To Dodge COVID Vaccine Using Fake Arm | HuffPost UK Weird News

Man uses fake arm to try and get a vaccination certificate.

And a Polish doctor who for a “facilitation” fee would straight up issue a vaccine certificate. Apparently there could be up to 500,000 of these in Poland.

Got my booster yesterday. I’d booked it some weeks ago, turned up early, and got done early.

I went into the office today for the first time since we were sent home in March 2020. I got home to the news that we’re going back to home working

We’re having our Christmas party on Friday, which is an online cheese tasting  So today we received about 1kg of cheese and some small bottles of port. I vote for having this as our Christmas party every year!

Laid low for a couple of days by my reaction to the Moderna vaccine booster, mostly resulting in being incredibly tired and with a head full of mud. Had almost no reaction to the two AZ shots before it. Still, no complaints if it offers even a small benefit in Covid-19 resistance.

Moderna really plowed through both me and my partner who didn’t work for 2 days and today idled for most of the day. I worked short hours and “attended” a few meetings. Same on my initial 2 shots with it. According to my more medically knowledgable friends in the field the dosage is higher which leads to both more antibodies and more reactions.

Weird week. We have 10 days of school left, and our school district is pulling Romeo and Juliet from the spring curriculum, in order to do what it can to mitigate or interrupt the suicidal ideation/depression cycle we are in. I support the decision, (there are many other texts) but one of my jobs is to act as a communication conduit between all the high school English teachers and the curriculum director for the school district, so I’ve been in virtual meetings every day this week where I’ve been asked to give our school district administrators a refresher on the text, a crash course on what an ideation cycle is, and a list of possible reactions they might get from teachers.

I get boosted on Friday, though, so they’ve only got until tomorrow at 3:15 to put their language together before I drop the bomb on all the teachers and then peace out for three days.

Oh dear, still coming up from the whole family having a nasty cold, it seems one of the twins has brought home norovirus, so it’s only a matter of time before that tears through the family. Vomit everywhere!
