How are you today?

Did you play realistic mode? Where removing cubes from a city just sets them aside for a turn before you add them back?

That’s the first I’m hearing of it, actually. No, we played base Pandemic.

I was joking based on how I observed pandemics were handled in the real world

I am doing some boardgame housekeeping and decided to reorganize all my Killer Bunnies stuff. I needed to pull up the BGG page to remind myself of the expansion order, and discovered how many people just hate this game. It kind of makes me like it more. I have a lot of nostalgia built up over the last 20 years. It was the first modern game I bought. I was a summer camp counselor, and picked it up on my way to the mountains to play withy cabin of 8 middle school campers. Since then it has been a staple of every gaming group I’ve been a part of. I love it for all it’s bloated, shabby problems (Which is also, I assume, how my wife feels about me.)

Stay sweet, KB…

That was my entry in this weird, colourful world as well. I still remember that insane, bloated, six-hour monstrosity of a game where we played with a full complement of players and all the expansions, LOL.

We’ve made it an annual thing here. Winning carrot holder hosts the next year.

Any middle-schoolers turning up here will be returned to sender. In kit form.

Ha! Those middle schoolers are all in their thirties now. If their parents managed to get them out of the house, I doubt they’ll take them back.

My wife joined a choir just after Xmas. She had her first concert with them on Saturday evening.

She also did a solo for the start of You Can’t Stop The Beat and she was awesome.

It was really great

I’d like to seriously shoot my next door neighbour. He has a little car workshop in his garage and he has been revving his car on and off all day.

Find your best speakers and play Jpop REALLY LOUDLY towards him?

I recommend Morning Musume.

I had a similar thought. Start recording. Play it back tonight.

Noisy neighbors are a… I’ve got Bob the Builder living 2 apartments over. I do not know what he does all the time but I swear he rebuilds his entire apartment every spring/summer and he is using his 60 squaremeter garden to run all his powertools and the dust blows across to our garden. This man is not my friend. I have previously considered really loud music but other neighbors have had screaming matches over loud music and I am moving away sometime in the not so far future… and then I’ll also be rid of all the leaf-blowers owned by at least half a dozen of my neighbors.

The unthinkable is about to happen, or already has happened, depending on how you look at it. Did I mention here that my mother in law has been hoovering up all the paranoid antivaxx nonsense for the last two years? Buying Invermectin, thinking that she’ll be the only family member able to swoop in and save her grandchildren if something horrible happens to all us vaccinated people years down the line?

Well, she just told us she’s going to get vaccinated.

I can hardly believe it, I didn’t think that was a thing that happened, or at least not without some drastic trigger.

It seems to have been a piling on of peer pressure. Her eldest son, typically very laid-back and easygoing, was apparently quite direct on his recent visit from Austria. My wife described how she felt stress at the thought of being stuck mediating between two very stubborn people if she visited us (I had said to my wife, not her, that I go so far as to think that people who could could easily get vaccinated and choose not to should pretty much lose the right to non-essential public transport, and are selfish and dumb). Apparently the final straw was when her brother and wife visited and a) pointed out that she’d be in no position to swoop in and save anyone if she were unvaccinated and b) she finally realised that vaccinated people were being forced to take extra care not to infect unvaccinated people, due to some comment her brother made about mask wearing and precautions they were taking. How that qualifies as some kind of revelation is a mystery to me, but that’s what she said the trigger was - realising how the vaccinated view the unvaccinated.

Anyway, wow. Still shocked.

Playing a member of the British government.

I’m sure it will be fine.

It’s an alternative history 1970s. We’re still dealing with the three day week, but we’ve also got a moon base.

It will be fine.

Are you playing as a member of the British government or play with a member of the British government?

I fear the latter may resign due to lack of confidence just at the last minute of the game.

As minister for space logistics I will declare my full support for the foreign minister as soon as the game begins.

Sounds like a more believable role than Minister for Brexit Opportunities :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
