For starting buildings?
You have 6 wood, so:
3 cart shops, building 3 things in countryside phase
or
2 cart shops to build 2 things in countryside phase, and an explorer and something else. Granary, I guess? Or inn, storage, or harbour, if you know those are high priority for you.

Apparently this implementation has a sandbox mode. If you can’t remember how things go, I can recommend using it to throw together your first city layout. I just did, hopefully my planned layout didn’t forget any essentials!

I have rewound the game, after noticing that countryside building skipped @Whistle_Pig because she had no manned buildings (and no houses!) So we need to do city build again @lalunaverde
Please don’t skip the big red warning that tells you to man your buildings.
Also, lalunaverde, the problem with 3 cart shops and 2 other buildings is that you only have 1 wood left to build anything in the countryside phase. Don’t do that!

(Assuming Antiquity is in the same state as Zimbabwe, it pays to refresh right before taking your turn. And if there are grey dots cycling at the top of the page, your turn wasn’t committed. Refresh and take it again.)

@Benkyo @Whistle_Pig I started playing around with the advanced actions (pollution, exploration) and they are pretty nifty. Speeds up the game

Been doing that from the start (in fact, they were implemented on my request!)
Really makes no sense for a multi-day delay over something as thought-free as a harvesting round.

One of the best things about OBG is that if you can think of something that could be improved, and ask for it, chances are it’ll be implemented within a day or so. That’s what happened with the Antiquity “expert” options, the recently-added automated maximum merger bids in Indonesia, hell, even the rewind function that salvages games. I just made the requests and boom, done shortly after. The guy is a coding machine. Or, no, wait, machines are bad at that. Some other metaphor.
